Lavina laid on her bed as she looked through the notes and books. Lavina had read the books several times before. But reading them again was no big deal and it gave her a chance to brush up on her idea of her mom. But her notes were the thing Lavina was looking at. She had never heard of some of these stories. Stories that dealt with her friend Soka and that Amilia had traveled through different dimensions. But there was another matter at hand as well. Lavina had brought her VCR tapes with. She had never played them before, but she knew something must be on them. So Lavina sighed and then got out her tape. Proceeding to the player, putting in the tape, turning on the TV and changing the output. Once again she hesitated as she hit the play button. She sat in front of the TV, on the floor leaning up against the bed. She waited for the tape to play as she messed with her hands. Then abruptly there was a picture. Next she saw her mom walk into the frame, sitting down on the stool that was in front of the camera.
"Um," Lavina heard her start. "Hi there, it's your mom. I know you must have a lot of questions about me. I'm sorry I had to leave you Lavina. But I promise it was all for you. I- I really don't know how to say these things or how to even start my dear. I," It was silent. "I love you Lavina. And I'm so proud of you Lavina." She stopped again and looked down. "You will be able to do what I never could. You will be free, free to do what you want. I could never stand up to people, to tell them off. I was always so afraid. And I'm sorry for that, I really am. If I hadn't been afraid I might actually be there right now. I know it's no life to be without your mom. Trust me, I understand that much. Where you question who they are and what they did and why they gave you up. Hugh." She sighed. "I didn't mean to do that to you, trust me, I didn't. But I was out of options, I tried my best, but, hagh," she sighed again. "I only have one option Lavina and it's not a pretty one, but I can't just ruin your future. And I hope you understand that. But for everything that I know you'll want, so let me say it all. Lavina I am proud of you, for everything you have done, you are amazing! Your personality gives me joy everytime I'm around you and you light up the room when you walk in. I love you Lavina and that will never change. You are my daughter Lavina." Amilia looked down to the floor. "Goodbye Lavina, my lovely little daughter." After that the screen went into a fuzz and Lavina just sat on the floor. Then she got up and took the tape out. She looked at it and sighed. Her mother had just said what Lavina had longed to hear. But for some reason she wasn't satisfied with it, it didn't affect her at all. Lavina went back to the box she had brought with her. She ruffled through it, she really hadn't looked at it at all. As she was looking through it something stuck out to her. She found a tape, but it had a peculiar name on it. The name on the tape was Jacob.
"Huh." She put the tape into the player and hit play. But the tape wouldn't play. It kept fuzzing out and she could barely hear anything her mother was saying. So she took it back out and put it back into the box. Lavina went down the stairs and saw Becka on the couch. She walked into the living room and knocked on the door frame.
"Oh hey there, Lavina."
"Hey, uh, do you know anything about a Jacob?"
"Hm," she said looking around, "No, I'm afraid I don't."
"Oh, ok, thanks." Lavina went back upstairs and sat back down on her bed. She sifted through the papers, writing important points down in her journal. Then she looked through the pictures. One after another, each better than the last. But Lavina soon stopped when she found pictures of her and her mom as a baby. Lavina hadn't seen many pictures of herself with her mom. The only ones Oglm had was of Amilia holding her while she was sleeping. But in these ones she was grabbing onto Amilia's shirt and giggling. They were photos of how she lived with her mom and how happy she was. After that she found pictures of her with her father, riding on his shoulders and being spun around in his arms, smiling all the way. She had never pictured herself happy with her father. And to think about never thought of hearing his voice in the way she did on the CD. There were times that she would wonder about her father, but nothing too much ever crossed her mind. I suppose you could say Lavina was quite stubborn that way. As quick as her thoughts came she shook them off and easily went back to looking through the almost never ending pages of words. Just then her phone rang and a number she had never seen before popped up. She answered it.
"Hello?"
"Hi Lavina!"
"Anghi?"
"Yes?"
"Where are you calling from?"
"Uh, the phone?"
"I thought you didn't have one."
"Oh no this is a big phone."
"Oh, an old landline, right? Do you spin the numbers to dial?"
"Yes, that's how I dial it. Do you not do that?"
Lavina laughed, "No, Anghi, that's not how I do it. So why are you calling and how?"
"Oh, well, your father found me in the library and kind of scared me a bit. But then he gave me your number."
Lavina laughed again, "Of course he did, so how can I help you?"
"Oh, well, I just wanted to see if we could exchange notes."
"Oh yeah, of course. What do you have?"
"Well, I have some old history books."
"No, no, I mean notes."
"Notes?"
"Yes, I have things written down like, Amilia's mark was originally orange but ended up being gold in the end."
"Oh! I have a note that explains a theory that Amilia is a reincarnation of Cordelia."
"And do you have proof?"
"Well, I'll have to have you take a look at the book to make sure it's credible, but, it says the marks were the same, including the color and when they started to glow."
"Oh that's interesting. Well I found a piece of info that says she was stabbed and not by magic like everyone thinks."
"Oh really?"
"Yeah, and I know it's icky but they do have a picture here."
"Oh wow. I read that Unora made another personality, Nora, to trick everyone so she could be with Amilia more. And they have some sketches to go along with it."
"Well, looks like you're doing some pretty good work."
"You too."
"Well, I come back tomorrow. How about I come back a little early and we can go to the castle and see what we can find."
"Yes, that would be great!"
"Alright, Anghi, have a good night."
"You too Lavina! See you tomorrow!"
"Bye."
"Bye!"
Lavina sighed. Then she laughed. Next she slapped herself.
"Get a hold of yourself Lavina!" She paused, "I know but he's just so cute!"
