"Are you ready for the parade?" Jasvinder asked her, carrying their bags.
"I suppose so, I mean, I've done it many times before."
"Ah, ah, ah." Jasvinder said, looking her in the eyes. "Keep your hair over your ears, until you can figure out how to change them to look human, they need to be covered. We don't need to create a mass panic." Lavina covered her ears back up and Jasvinder smiled. "Well look at you!" He stared.
"Huh?" Lavina glared at him.
"You didn't sigh or grunt at me, looks like somebody learned how to control their anger." Lavina rolled her eyes and then turned her attention back to the walkway. They finally reached their gate for their private jet, of course, and soon after boarded it. Jasvinder put the bags away and then sat down with Lavina.
"Aren't there a lot more seats than the last time?"
"Oh, yes. My boss heard about me going to visit in New York, and decided to pay for our trip, with the exception of sending a few of his people over to New York with us."
"Oh."
"Come now, we'll still have fun, what do you want to do? Are you hungry?"
"No, I'm good." She slapped the table a little bit.
Jasvinder laughed, "How are you feeling? You're acting a bit like your old self, yes?"
"Yeah, I'm a bit better. My anger still gets the best of things, sometimes."
"Ah ha." Soon after everyone settled in, the plane took off. Lavina and her father slept most of the trip, in fact, she had to wake him up when they touched down in New York. It was quite early in New York, barely just six in the morning. They only arrived so early because they were a little further out at a bigger airport, about an hour or so away from Amilia's house. Which meant they wouldn't arrive until about seven, eight o'clock in the morning. Jasvinder drove the hour or so it took to get to the house and then parked in Amilia's driveway. "Lavina." Jasvinder jostled her awake.
"Hm, what?" She looked around her.
"We're here. Why don't you go ring the doorbell and I'll go grab our bags."
"Yeah, ok." Jasvinder got out and Lavina stretched. She sat there a bit longer and only got up when she felt the chill of the trunk on her back. Then she opened her door and got out of the SUV. She walked up the driveway and then down the sidewalk, and up the two steps. She rang the doorbell as she rubbed her eyes. Soon after Jasvinder joined beside her, setting down the suitcases. A few seconds later the door opened and Amilia welcomed them in.
"Oh! It's so nice to see you!" Amilia bent down and hugged Lavina, giving her a kiss on the forehead. "How was your trip? How have you been?"
"Mom, I call you every week."
"Oh, I know, but I haven't seen you in at least two months."
Lavina laughed.
"I'm sorry, you must be tired." She paused. "Uh- go ahead and go up to your room, honey. It's all made up for you. I'll bring your bag up later."
Lavina yawned and then went up the stairs.
"Lavina!" She heard when she got to the top of the stairs. Anghi came over and gave her a hug. "Oh it's so nice to see you!"
"Yeah, yeah, you two." She waved at him.
"Oh, right- you're tired." Anghi grabbed her by the arm and tugged her along to her room. "Here we are, there we go." Anghi walked out of her room and then shut the door. She woke up sometime later, around eleven or so. She scratched her head and then looked around. Then she looked at the clock.
