Lavina stretched as she woke up the next morning. She woke up a little earlier today, her jet lag getting a little better. She changed and then went down stairs.

"Look who's up so early." Amilia started, giving her some breakfast. Her mother smiled and then went into the other room.

"Good morning, dad." Lavina said, looking over at him. Her father sitting at the island on a bar stool.

"Mhm." Jasvinder seemed to be really tired, his face on his fist. Every once in a while he'd swish his coffee around and then take a sip of it.

"Tired? I thought you did this stuff all the time."

"I do, but, sleeping with your mother, ugh," He yawned, "I forgot how many times she has kicked me out of bed."

"You're sleeping with mom?"

"Well, she didn't want to give me the couch, and Ophelia's using the guest room, so-" he staggered off. "But we aren't doing anything sinister." He laughed. "We're just sleeping together, nothing else."

"Maybe it'll be better tonight, now that she's adjusted to having another person in the bed, I mean she has had the bed to herself for how long?"

"Ah, yes, I suppose you're right, but if she kicks me off again," he paused to yawn, "Then I'm coming down here and sleeping on the couch."

Lavina laughed, "I suppose you'll have to." Amilia stepped back into the kitchen.

"I can't believe you're so tired." Amilia mentioned, filling his cup back up.

"Oh, thank you, Amilia."

"I don't know how you can drink this stuff, yuck."

He chuckled, "Hey, it's just enough caffeine to jumpstart my day, and then I'll crash around five or so..."

Amilia laughed. "Well, you better prime yourself, the parade is soon."

"I know, wait, prime myself?"

"Yeah, they decided to let you participate in it, I mean you are Lavina's father."

"But I thought I was stripped of my ranks."

"You are, but only of your royal ones. I mean, you're not allowed to wear your military uniform, but you can wear the medals you earned while in the army, before we got married and you became prince."

"Ah, so what, just a suit?"

"Oh, they have everything planned, you know how the royal court can be."

"Ah, yes, your wonderful royal court."

"And you," She pointed at Lavina, "You need to go say hello to your grandparents before the parade starts. They said you just charged past them when they said hello."

"Well, yeah, I was following Unora."

"Oh, I see." Amilia looked up the stairs. "Speaking of which, she should be awake by now." Amilia went up the stairs. Lavina got up and put her dishes in the sink.

"Leaving, my dear?" Jasvinder asked her.

"Yeah, knowing my grandparents they're going to want to do stuff." Lavina walked out of the kitchen and through the living room, finally to the forest and then down to Catalin.

"Good morning, your majesty." Everyone told her as she walked through the palace, some of them bowing, others bowing their heads. She waved to most of them, happy to be in the palace once again.
