"Lavina- what is the matter with you!"
"The matter? The matter!? How about you treating me like some kid."

"What? But you like golf. I thought you'd like to go to the Masters Tournament."

"Yeah, well, you guessed wrong."

"Lavina."

"Well next time ask me. Maybe then you won't have to waste your money." She headed up the stairs.

"Lavina! Lavina you get back here!" She heard up the stairs. Lavina slammed her door shut and walked over to the mirror. She lifted her hand up and then made a knife in it. She lifted it up to the back of her head. With her other hand she clenched her hair in her fist and put the knife behind it. Yet, for some reason she couldn't bring herself to do it. She sighed and then put her hand down, leaning on her dresser. Then she heard a knock on her door.

"Who is it?" The door opened.

"Just me, sweetheart." Oglm walked over to her.

"What do you want, dad?"

"Oh come now, don't be so mad." He grabbed her hands and sat her down on her bed, he sat next to her. Putting his arm around her back. "What's the matter, my beautiful young little girl." He smiled.

"Nothing."

"Nothing? Your mother says you've been quite the angry little lady."

Lavina laughed, "What does she know?"

"Come now, she's your mother."

"Yeah-" She started, "My mother who was absent in my life until a few months ago." She leaned back on her bed.

"Are you saying you would have rather she not come back?"

"I- well- no, I suppose not. Though it probably would have been easier."

"Oh, my dear." He said, pushing her hair behind her ear. "What happened to your ears?"

"Hm? What do you mean?"

"They're pointed, Lavina." Lavina shrugged her shoulders.

"Come with me." He pulled her up and down the stairs, sitting her down on the couch.

"Oh great, what are you involving my mother for?"

"Lavina." She whispered.

"No, no, Amilia." He said, turning to her. "Can you explain to me why her ears are pointed?"
"Huh? I don't know." She paused. "She won't tell me."

"Lavina, you have to be honest with us, how else can we help you?"

"Phish." She made the noise.

"Lavina, how did your ears become pointed?"

"God, it was Mason, alright!?"

"Mason?" Amilia started, "What- what did he do to you?"

"Nothing I didn't want him to."

"Lavina, come on, I want to help you."

"Help me!? Help me with what exactly? I'm fine!" She stood up.

"Lavina!" Oglm yelled. "You do not raise your voice to your mother!" Lavina snarled at him. "Sit down." Lavina plopped herself back down on the couch, she crossed her arms. "Where is this coming from? Why are you so mad all of a sudden? Never in your life have you acted this way. Now buck up and tell us what you had Mason do to you."

She sighed and rolled her eyes. "I didn't ask him to do it, he suggested it and I agreed."

"Agreed to what?" Lavina rolled her eyes again.

"I don't wanna talk about this."

"Lavina." Oglm said sternly.

She sighed again, "He took a look at my mark and was able to translate it. Apparently it means imagination and whatever I think of can come true. With his sciency stuff he manipulated my genes, making me more Marked than Human."

"You're- you're Marked?"

Oglm laughed. "Oh what a relief."

"Oglm."

"No, no, I know how to deal with this, it's actually quite an easy fix." He laughed some more. "I thought it was something else- like a bad break up or one of your 'lady' things." Amilia rolled her eyes. "Ok, ok," He said, calming down. "Lavina, where is your dog tag?"
"In my room, I suppose."

"Alright, I'll be right back." He started to walk into the kitchen.

"Woah, hey." Lavina said, moving to the edge of the couch. "Who said you could go into my room?"

"But Lavina-"

"No! I'm a girl and you're a man, we don't go into each other's rooms."

"Fine, then go get it." Lavina grinned at him. "Amilia." He motioned up the stairs. "You have to try to resist your anger, Lavina. I know it's hard."

"Oh do you now?"

Oglm sighed.

"Here you go, Oglm, but I don't see how this is going to help."

"That's alright, I do." He walked over to Lavina and put the dog tag around her neck. It glowed and then held a more prominent rose pink color. "How do you feel now, Lavina, dear?"

"Ugh," She started. "I guess I'm alright."

"Are you sure?"

"Uh- yeah, I just- have a headache is all." She put her hand to her head.

"Look who's back!" Oglm said, giving her a hug.

"Oh, please, not now dad, I don't feel too good."

"Ohp, sorry, sorry, my bad.

"I don't get it, what happened?" Amilia looked at him.

"Oh, well," He started, "You see- she's not used to being a Marked." He sighed. "Us Marked, even the women, have very high testosterone levels. Since Lavina isn't used to that, she reacted in a volatile way, being mad and stubborn the whole time. But with her dog tag on, she should be able to regulate it. Until we can put her into a safe situation so she can deal with the new hormone level in her body."

"How come I-"
"Even though Nsefen was repressed in you, you still were born half and half, your genes didn't change. Lavina's body is just going through a normal response to become 'more Marked'." He used air quotes.

"Lavina, sweetie, you want to get some rest? I can help you up to your room."

"Huh? Oh, yeah, that would be nice." Amilia helped her up and walked her up the stairs. Amilia helped her into bed and then covered her with blankets. With that Lavina fell asleep and Amilia closed her door.
