Chapter 2: More Introductions

Dabi took a seat next to Rei as the others stared in shock.

"How did you know it was me, Mom?" he asked.

"Please, I'm your mother; of course, I'd recognize my own son. Now, what the heck were you thinking?!" she began her angry rant. "Causing a forest fire?! Playing dead?! And what's with those piercings? I thought I forbade you those? And what are you wearing? You look like a 13-year-old in his emo phase."

Shigaraki and Setsuko were rolling on the floor laughing by the time Rei finished her rant.

Touya sighed. "Sorry, Mom." Rei just huffed and hugged him, soon joined by Fuyumi, Natsuo, and Shoto.

"Are you done hugging now so that the rest of us can introduce ourselves?" Kazumi asked annoyed.

The Todorokis chuckled and made space for the others to sit down in the first row.

"Oi, Keigo, Hato, come here," Touya called them, and the two birds sat down on his right side while Rei and his siblings sat on his left.

"Alright!" Kazumi bumped her fists together. "My name is Kazumi Bakugou!"

Bakugou choked on air, and Kirishima patted him on the back. "You're my daughter?!"

"Yup! Hi, Pops!" Kazumi smiled at him.

"I'm Hikki Shinsou!" Hikki introduced herself excitedly.

Shinsou smiled. "You must be my daughter?"

"That's right, Dad!" Hikki grinned.

"Too bright!" Many thought and winced.

"All right, now that introductions are done with, you'll be staying here for a while, but don't worry. We've got a kitchen, and just behind me down the hall are bedrooms with a bathroom for each bedroom," Itsuki explained.

"We've got a lot of stuff to show you, so why don't we just start with the first clip?" Shosuke suggested, looking at his friends who nodded in agreement.

Everyone sat down, and the screen lit up.

The scene opens with Dabi propped against the wall inside an abandoned building, his hand pressed against his side where a large gash is seeping blood.

Hawks's eyes widen slightly, a shocked gasp held back in his throat. What could have caused such an injury to his boyfriend? He clenches his fists, ready to retaliate against whoever harmed Dabi. A few others in the room also express surprise at the severity of the wound.

"It seems like it's from a sword, but there's something different about it," Midoriya murmurs to himself, his brow furrowed in concentration.

Dabi pants heavily, wincing with each breath as he struggles to speak.

"Listen to me," he manages, his voice strained with pain. "This isn't who you are. You have to break free from their control. They're manipulating you like a puppet, just like they did back then during the program."

"Who's he talking to?"

"If you were quiet we'd find out dunce face!"

Hawks eyes widen more, could the Dabi onscreen be talking to... him?

"They're not controlling me! They're revealing the truth!" the other person shouts angrily, shoving Dabi to the ground.

Dabi falls hard, a sharp gasp escaping his lips. He feels the cold touch of a long, crimson feather pressed against his neck.

"Do you have any final words, you worthless villain?"

The class gasps. Dabis eyes widen in shock and Hawks stares terrified at the screen.

"I'm sorry," Dabi whispers, his gaze softening as he looks at Hawks. The temperature rises around them, and just before his fire explodes from him with full force, you can hear him whisper sadly, "I love you, Keigo..."

Then there's a mournful outcry, and the flames engulf Hawks, burning his wings down nearly completely.

Everyone stares wide eyed, their mouth hanging open in shock.

"Hawks-sensei!" Tokoyami cries out, scared for his mentor.

Dabi slowly rises, his entire body trembling as wisps of smoke escape from under his staples.

"The commission can't control Hawks anymore, birdie, because all that's left now is Keigo Takami," Dabi sighs, sinking to the ground next to Keigo.

Keigo looks up at him, fear evident in his wide eyes. "T-Touya?" he stutters, tears streaming down his cheeks.

"It's okay, I'm here," Dabi whispers soothingly, wrapping his arms around Keigo as he sobs.

"I'm sorry! I didn't want to hurt you!" Keigo says between sobs.

A small smile forms on Dabi's lips. "I know, birdie. It's alright."

Hawks is now cuddling Touya even closer. He looks at Hato.

"Are you ok Hato?"

"I'm fine mom. You guys already told me your past was complicated." Hato smiles reassuringly at Hawks.

"Next up, a wedding!" Kazumi announces cheerfully.
