"I wanna see more of my kids shenanigans!" Shoto says excitedly and Izuku can't help but smile lovingly at him.
As dusk falls over the city, the Todoroki household braces itself for what has become an eagerly anticipated but utterly chaotic tradition: movie night with the Todoroki cousins. Hato, Setsuko, Arashi, Itsuki, and Shosuke have taken it upon themselves to organize this evening's entertainment, a task that, by all accounts, promises more than just popcorn and films.
"MOVIE NIGHT!" The cousins cheer.
The living room is transformed into a fortress of cushions and blankets, an architectural feat that teeters on the brink of collapse but stands as a testament to their collective creativity.
Arashi, leveraging his 'Frost Hopper' agility, darts around, hanging fairy lights with precision, while Hato's wings occasionally flap, threatening to send everything airborne.
"Careful! You're going to bring the whole thing down!" Itsuki warns, her voice laced with laughter as she narrowly dodges a cushion sent flying by one of Hato's less controlled gusts.
Rei watches her grandchildren fondly.
In the midst of this construction chaos, Setsuko, with a mischievous glint in her eyes, decides it's the perfect time to test the structural integrity of their fortress. She places a hand lightly against one of the blanket walls, her decay quirk ready at her fingertips.
Shigaraki grins mischievously "that's my girl."
"Our girl." Natsuo reminds him proudly.
At the last moment, Arashi catches her wrist, his grin wide. "Nice try, but no sabotaging the cinema," he teases, earning a playful glare from Setsuko.
Now Mirko grins triumphantly at the pouting Shigaraki and pouting Setsuko.
Shosuke, meanwhile, has taken on the role of the popcorn master, a title he wears with pride. The kitchen is a flurry of activity as he experiments with flavors, ranging from the traditional butter and salt to the more adventurous caramel and chili. The sound of popping kernels is punctuated by his exclamations of success or surprise, depending on the concoction.
Bakugou huffs. "Looks like your brats aren't completely useless Deku."
Izuku and Shoto glare at him but before a fight breaks out the twins calm them down.
Just as they settle into their blanket fortress, the technology rebels. The projector, a relic from a bygone era, decides to flicker and fade, much to the frustration of everyone gathered.
"Let me try!" Itsuki exclaims, her hands glowing faintly with warmth as she attempts to coax the machine back to life.
"Maybe it needs a bit of encouragement," Shosuke suggests, preparing to unleash a small flurry of ice in the hopes of cooling down the overheated device.
"No ice near the electronics!" Rei yells sternly.
"No ice near the electronics!" Hato intervenes, his voice calm but firm, preventing a potential disaster.
Hato high fives his grandma.
As they bicker over the projector, the room suddenly fills with the warm glow of the screen coming to life, courtesy of Fuyumi, who had quietly stepped in to save the day. "There you go. Enjoy your movie," she says with a soft smile, retreating to let them dive into their evening of chaos and camaraderie.
"Thanks mama!"
"Thanks aunt fuyumi!"
Fuyumi feels herself blush at all her sons, nieces and nephews thankful eyes on her.
The movie begins, but the room is anything but quiet. Commentary flies as fast as the action on screen, with debates over character motivations, predictions for plot twists, and the occasional shout of excitement during climactic scenes. Popcorn is tossed, laughter rings out, and for a few hours, the world outside fades away, leaving only the joyous tumult of family and the magic of shared stories.
In these moments, amidst the playful chaos and fleeting frustrations, the bonds between the Todoroki cousins only grow stronger, a vibrant tapestry of personalities and quirks united by blood and friendship.
"Next up is the traditional todoroki cousin sleepover!"
The Todoroki residence, a place usually marked by its serene ambiance and the soft rustle of turning pages, finds itself transformed on the night of the great Todoroki cousins' sleepover. Hato, Setsuko, Arashi, Itsuki, and Shosuke have descended upon their grandparents’ home, each armed with sleeping bags, an arsenal of snacks, and enough energy to light up the city.
"SLEEPOVER!"
As night envelops the household, the living room becomes a sprawling maze of blankets and pillows, a makeshift camp under the watchful eyes of family portraits. The air is thick with the scent of freshly popped popcorn and the undertone of competitive spirit as the cousins dive into their first activity: a board game marathon.
Rei, ever the gracious host and loving grandmother, watches with a mixture of amusement and slight apprehension as the games unfold.
Every roll of the dice and shuffle of cards is accompanied by an outburst of cheers or groans, depending on the cousins' fortunes.
"Remember, it's just a game," she reminds them, a statement met with a chorus of determined
"Of course, Grandma!" from everyone, though their competitive edge says otherwise.
Rei smiles at the sight. Enji watches her smile with a loving look.
Endeavor, not usually one for the chaos of games, finds himself roped into a round of charades. His attempts are met with laughter and playful jabs, a rare sight that softens his usual stern demeanor.
Fuyumi smiles softly. How she wishes their father could've been like that with them.
"I never took you for a dragon," Hato teases after a particularly animated guess, referring to his father’s enthusiastic but confusing portrayal.
As the evening wanes, the group decides on a late-night movie, a decision that quickly spirals into a debate over genres. Arashi advocates for action, Setsuko insists on horror, while Itsuki and Shosuke lobby for an animated classic. It’s Hato who suggests a compromise: a movie marathon that caters to all tastes, a proposal met with unanimous approval.
The movie marathon, however, quickly devolves into an impromptu commentary session, with each cousin offering their insights and theories, much to the amusement of their grandparents. Rei, wrapping a warm blanket around her shoulders, leans into the joy of the moment, her laughter mingling with that of her grandchildren.
As the night deepens and the final credits roll, the cousins find themselves in a tangled mess of blankets and limbs, the room echoing with their soft snores. The chaos of the evening has given way to a peaceful scene of unity and contentment.
Rei and Endeavor share a quiet moment, observing their sleeping grandchildren. "They’re quite the handful, aren’t they?" Rei whispers, a smile tugging at her lips.
"Yes they are!" Hato agrees.
Endeavor, watching the gentle rise and fall of their chests, nods, a rare tenderness in his gaze. "Yes, but they’re our handful," he replies, his voice soft with affection.
The Todoroki siblings stare at the screen in surprise, never having seen their father like that.
In the hushed tranquility of the Todoroki residence, amidst the aftermath of the sleepover’s chaos, lies a simple truth: family is the heart of all tumult, the anchor in the storm, and the quiet after the noise. And for one night, the Todoroki grandparents’ home was filled with the best kind of chaos— the laughter and love of family.
