Hawks decides to pay a clandestine visit to a friend who happens to be a doctor. Donning sunglasses, a baseball cap, and carefully concealing his wings beneath his jacket, he stealthily makes his way to UA.
Timing his arrival for when the students would be occupied with their classes, he slips into the infirmary undetected.
The woman at the desk widens her eyes in surprise when she sees him.
"It's me!" Mailin cheers.
"Wait, she knew before me?!" Touya asks incredulously.
"Hawks?"
"Shhh!" he hushes her urgently. "I need your help, Mailin."
Observing his anxious expression, Recovery Girl's assistant rises from her seat and guides him to sit on one of the beds.
"What's the matter?" she asks, her tone serious.
"I- I think-" Hawks stammers, then takes a deep breath. "I'm pregnant..." he confesses, his voice barely above a whisper, his fear of his handlers overhearing palpable.
"Wow! That's incredible news!" Mailin's smile beams with genuine happiness, but she can't ignore the distress etched on his face.
Though she's curious, she respects his silence, instead focusing on her task. With his permission, she prepares to conduct an ultrasound.
"Why does a high school infirmary have an ultrasound machine?" Hawks inquires as Mailin begins.
"As a medical facility, we're required to have all necessary equipment," she explains, smoothly maneuvering the wand over his abdomen. "You know, the little one's hit a big milestone recently. All the major organs and body systems are formed up now, even if they're not quite finished yet. They're about the size of a plum right now. I'd say you're about three months along."
Hawks couldn't help but marvel at the miracle unfolding within him, even as he grappled with the uncertainty of the future.
A few weeks later, while Hawks is out patrolling the city, Dabi slips into their apartment through the balcony, a routine he's grown accustomed to over time.
After a quick glance around the kitchen, Dabi sets about preparing a meal, setting aside a plate for Hawks to enjoy upon his return. Once he's finished eating, Dabi retreats to the bathroom to tend to the wounds he acquired while dealing with a group of perverts harassing Toga earlier that evening.
As Dabi casually enters the bathroom, his eyes catch something glinting in the trashcan. Curiosity piqued, he approaches and gingerly lifts the discarded item, his breath catching in his throat as he realizes what it is. A positive pregnancy test, unmistakable in its significance, lies nestled amidst the crumpled tissues and discarded paper towels.
"Oh shit-" Setsuko grimaces.
"Language Setsuko!" Natsuo reprimands his daughter.
"Sorry Papa!"
For a moment, Dabi stands frozen, his mind struggling to process the implications of what he's found. A rush of conflicting emotions floods through him - surprise, disbelief, and a deep-seated sense of concern. His thoughts whirl as he tries to piece together the puzzle before him, grappling with the realization that Hawks, his partner, is pregnant.
The weight of this revelation settles heavily on Dabi's shoulders, stirring a maelstrom of thoughts and emotions within him. He's torn between a desire to confront Hawks immediately and a fear of what this unexpected news might mean for their future. Should he confront Hawks and demand answers, or should he bide his time and wait for the right moment to broach the subject?
As he stands there, holding the pregnancy test in his hand, Dabi's mind races with possibilities. One thing is certain - their lives are about to change in ways they never could have imagined. And as Dabi grapples with this newfound knowledge, he knows that he'll need to tread carefully in the days and weeks ahead.
As Hawks returns from his patrol that evening, he finds Dabi waiting for him in their apartment, a tense energy radiating from his usually composed demeanor. Sensing the shift in atmosphere, Hawks's heart sinks, a sinking feeling settling in the pit of his stomach.
"Dabi, what's wrong?" Hawks asks, his voice tinged with concern as he takes in Dabi's somber expression.
Wordlessly, Dabi holds out a small plastic object, the positive pregnancy test he had found earlier, now a silent witness to the truth they both must face.
Hawks freezes, his breath catching in his throat as he takes in the sight before him. He had hoped to find a way to tell Dabi about the pregnancy on his own terms, to spare him the shock and uncertainty of discovering it like this. But now, faced with the undeniable evidence in Dabi's outstretched hand, Hawks realizes that there is no escaping the truth.
"Dabi, I-" Hawks begins, his voice faltering as he struggles to find the right words to explain. But before he can speak, Dabi interrupts, his voice cold and distant.
"How could you not tell me?" Dabi's words are like a knife to Hawks's heart, each syllable cutting deeper than the last.
"I wanted to-" Hawks tries to explain, but Dabi shakes his head, cutting him off.
"Don't." Dabi's voice is sharp, filled with hurt and betrayal. "I thought we were supposed to be in this together, Hawks. But you couldn't even trust me enough to tell me the truth."
Tears well in Hawks's eyes, his heart heavy with guilt and regret. "I'm sorry, Dabi. I was scared, I didn't know how to tell you."
Dabi's expression softens slightly at Hawks's admission, but the hurt still lingers in his eyes. "I understand that you were scared, Hawks. But keeping this from me was a mistake. We're in this together, remember?"
Hawks nods, his throat tight with emotion. "I know, Dabi. I promise, from now on, we'll face this together, no matter what."
In the quiet of the night, with only the soft hum of the city outside, Touya and Keigo found solace in each other's arms. Their love was a whispered promise, a silent understanding that transcended words.
"I love you, Keigo," Touya murmured, his voice barely above a whisper but filled with all the warmth and tenderness of his heart.
"I love you too, Touya," Keigo replied, his voice soft and gentle as he pressed a tender kiss to Touya's forehead. In that moment, they were no longer heroes or villains, but simply two souls bound together by love and shared destiny.
Together, they found refuge in the sanctuary of their shared love, finding solace in the quiet moments they stole away from the chaos of their lives. In the darkness of the night, they were free to be themselves, to love and be loved without fear or reservation.
Everyone awes.
"Next, who wants to see how being pregnant affected Hawks bird side?"
"Oh me!" Hato cheers excitedly.
"Oh please, no! That is way too embarrassing." Keigo whines, protesting.
"I think you're cute when you give into your bird instincts." Touya whispers in his mates ear who turns beet red once again.
