Chapter 24: Meeting an Ancient spirit

"Senior Ischiros, thank you for coming in aid" Momo said as she bows with gratitude.

"Forgive me, I was caught off guard when the doppelganger transforms, I-"

"It's ok, youngsters like you are still inexperience in things like this, and capturing this thing is a top priority, especially that we have a missing person case" The man with sunglasses called Ischiros said as he looks at everyone.

"Divine, contact Matia. She is an expert in containing beings, if it's me, I might accidentally kill this thing."

"Copy, Senior!" Divine replied while saluting and immediately takes out a talisman. Divine records her voice and throws the talisman, making it fly on its own to its destination.

After a few minutes, Matia arrived. She wears a shrine maiden outfit with a blindfold.

"That was fast. Sorry for taking your rest time Matia, please contain this thing for further interrogation of it"

Matia started to write five symbols around the being and connect them into a pentagon.

"Did you find any clues except the child's items?" Matia said addressing the people in the area.

"Forgive us, but we haven't found other than the items" Momo replied.

Before Matia has arrived, the doppelganger has slowly sent a part of its body underground. Even if the being is contained, as long as there's a part of it outside, it can transfer its consciousness to the blob of flesh it separated.

As the group continues talking, a rustle comes from the dark forest. Someone is walking in their direction.

"Meow~" A cat resounded from the direction and a figure of a human is lighted by the lamp post.

It was Lena who is limping while carrying a cat. She has an injury and an abrasion in her hands and knees.

"Ryuji? Sister Momo? Why are you guys here?" She asked with confusion on her face.

Nobody made a move thinking that the person in front of them is a fake. Lena continued walking, but Momo stopped her.

"Lena, wait!"

Lena stopped in her tracks.

"What's wrong?"

"Before you walk towards us, I have a question whether you are Lena or not" Momo said seriously.

"Okay???"

"When we were children, what did I put in my body where I think it was mud."

"Oh, you mean when you wipe your whole body with cow's poop, saying that it will help the skin smoother?" Lena said with a straight face.

"It's you!" Momo said as she ran and hugs Lena tight.

"Pfft! Hahahahahahaha, Senpai Momo did you really do it? Hahahahaha" Claude said as he holds his stomach.

"Hahahahahhaha, that senpai? Wahahahahaha" Kairos also laughed together with Claude.

That was out of place topic that made the atmosphere lighten. Ares and the gang sighed with relief while Divine was looking at Claude and Kairos in despair.

These two actually have the guts to laugh, Claude and Kairos, rest in peace, Divine thought as she looks away at the terrifying face of Momo looking at them.
