Chapter 29

Jax arrives at a place, far enough to deal with the ogre together with Lena.

Both know their roles in the fight and immediately prepared themselves to battle the ogre.

"This place is fine, let's engage" As Jax said that Lena jumps from his back and backed away from him to avoid the clash between him and the horned ogre.

Jax started to throw rocks from his inventory making the ogre angry.

The ogre runs towards Jax to tackle him. He runs towards a tree, kicks himself up using the trunk, and grabs a thick branch to make himself hang for a bit.

The ogre who has great momentum bumps his head on the tree which shakes it greatly. The ogre steps back, and Jax uses this opportunity to go turning his body to kick the head of the enemy.

He let go of the branch and ride on the back head of the ogre.

He uses his legs to choke him while riding on the back of the ogre's neck. Jax equips two short swords and attacks the ogre's eyes.

In fighting in the game, personal knowledge of self-defense and ability plays a huge role when combating. Jax who has great experience in terms of physical combat in the real world has a great advantage in defending and attacking.

But he still has limitations in the game, the strength that he has in real-world is reduced since his strength stats don't have enough points to meet it.

The blinded ogre uses an AOE (Area of Effect) enrage skill that makes Jax flies and hits on a tree. His HP (Hit Points) bar was halved from the attack while the ogre still has a lot of his health.

If the ogre is a normal level 20 monster, both have great chances of defeating it, sadly, the one they are facing right now is a boss who deals greater damage and has great defense compared to other ogres.

The ogre summons a huge club and immediately attacks Jax. The ogre may be blind, but it still has great hearing.

From the impact and movement of the sound of Jax, he was able to hit him with the club. Jax defended using a beginner claymore which he equips immediately but was still able to reduce his HP bar because of the shockwave.

As Jax is about to get hit again, Lena appears, grabbing Jax to avoid the hit.

*What!? Why did I not hear any movements that Ruidia (Lena) is near me??* Jax thought as Lena throws him an HP potion.

Lena healed Jax as he grabbed him. After giving him the potion, Lena pushed him out of the way to avoid the continuous attack of the ogre.

Jax may have intense training in attacking and self-defense, Lena also knows how to do it too.

She may be the weakest disciple in the dojo, but she can defend herself as a normal person. Lena has been trained by his master starting middle school making her at least better at defending and fighting against normal human beings.

Even though she uses a staff, Lena hits the ogre as if the staff is a club. Not fast, but precise, and knows how to dodge even in the smallest movement.

Jax was shocked but after drinking the potion immediately, he joins the fight. Using the short sword, Jax attacks the enemy with nimble movements.

As Lena assists in fighting in a close combat way, she knows to time healing between herself and Jax and is good at the timing of switching different weapons.

When her MP bar is low, she backed out, drank a bottle of Mana potion then return to the fight.

Both have different pieces of training and experiences, but one thing that both have the same teaching is that 'in a fight, use every opportunity to win a fight, hands are not enough, use every possibility that a person can use. Feet, fingers, legs, fists, head. The same with weapons, learn to be resourceful'.

The ogre's HP bar is getting smaller, both fight fast, knowing that there will be likely a second phase, it will not happen if they can defeat it before it happened.

As a final attempt, the ogre attacks strongly by trying to grab Lena and Jax. Jax is able to avoid it by jumping on a big rock, making him fly above the ogre, while Lena goes under the attack.

Simultaneously, both use a sword attack. Jax in the head while Lena stabs the chest of the ogre. The ogre died and it became particles leaving its drops on the ground.

Both immediately take the drops and throws them at a tree that both spotted, enough for five people to sit down inside of it.

Jax signaled Lena to climb a tree. Jax boost up Lena then Lena grabs his hand so that he can climb immediately.

Their movement was fast and silent. After Jax climbed up, 5 figures suddenly appeared. Both have heard movements and thus decide to do immediate action to avoid the PK players.

"Tch! I didn't think that those two are able to run as far as this place." The boss of the PK players said. He was a tall man with many piercings on his character.

"Yeah, judging from the sound of fighting, I'm sure they were here." A woman with mage clothes said as she looks around.

"They must have finished the fight and runs, immediately, let's go after them." The boss said.

A rustle from the trees sudden happens. The boss realized that those two might have hidden in the leaves of trees, seeing that it's enough to hide people.

The boss signals everyone to stay quiet and goes to the tree where the sound came from.

Seeing a leather shoe that beginner adventurers use poking out in one of the branches standing while the rest is covered because of the leaves covered the supposed opening of the tree below.

"You think you can get away!" Another male member of the PK players used a spear to stab the person's feet, but what he didn't expect is that a big snakehead devours and kills him instantly.

"Wah-wahhh!!! It's the devil snake! Sh*t, why is there a high-level monster here!!" Another female member said with a ranger outfit.

"Nooo!!!" The mage died with one tail attack.

Everybody tried to run but was slain one by one by the snake devil. The snake color is combined with red and black. It has a big horn on its head and bat wings on its back.

It is smart to use baits such as putting a leather shoe in the tree, to look as if someone is hiding.

"Stop!! Don't go near me!" The boss who is a lonely survivor is sitting while his legs are already torn.

The snake killed the boss in one strike and look at the opposite tree where Lena and Jax are hiding.

Both know that there's no chance for them to win against such an enemy, thus, they have accepted each other on their list of friends and hope to meet each other after the 24-hour penalty.

The snake's tail has blades attached and use to trim the top of the tree.

Lena looks at Jax, "Brother, I'm glad to have met you"

"Me too Brother" both said with a dying faces. They are already short with HP and Mana. The in-game body is also still recovering their stamina which means they don't have the strength to fight back nor to run away.

The snake looks at them both. As it opens its mouth, both accept death is coming on their way, but surprisingly, the snake grabs the ogre's core and flies away with it.

Lena and Jax look at one another and lay down on the inside of the tree, even if the tree was trimmed at the top, the leaves started to grow back, making a shade inside the tree and returning to its former look.

"Thank goodness, we survived" Both said with a sigh.
