Chapter 46: My three days with you (Part 6)

Morning has come and Cereus's excitement can't be hidden. She spends her breakfast together with Lena, nanny Avo, and Argentum.

Cereus kept asking Argentum about the different foods and items displayed on the night market after knowing that Lena asks him to buy her foods there last time.

They chose different dresses to wear. Lena decided to wear a white and yellow dress, while Cereus chose a cute blue dress.

Lena has already asked permission from Aunt Aria and told her siblings about it too. They wished luck on their sister's outing and will visit at night.

The time went quickly and it was already 4 in the afternoon. Cereus said that she wanted to get something in her room.

Lena decided to wait outside Cereus's room since she said that she will be fast. Lena suddenly feels thirsty and walked to the vending machine in the corner, Argentum naturally followed Lena.

As Lena take a turn, she saw Aya with a teddy bear and a cake box. She looks like rehearsing a line on how she keeps repeating her words.

"Ok, you can do this. She's your sister, you better apologized. I-, it's, me, sorry? What kind of half-ass am I doing!" Aya complained to herself.

Aya's back is turned that's why she didn't see Lena.

"Sigh, should I not do it? But I am in the wrong" Aya said as she sit down on the bench.

At that moment, she saw Lena and is filled with embarrassment.

"I-I'm sorry, I should go" Aya said trying to walk fast towards the elevator. Lena caught her hand, making Aya stop in her tracks.

"You should go visit her. She dearly misses you."

"What do you know?" Aya responded sarcastically.

"Cereus shared it with me" Lena looked at Aya with a determined look.

I remember her now. I thought she was just part of an Otome story, but in this scene, she was the sister that cried sorrowfully to the grave of Cereus.

This was the scene where the sister tried to apologize for something she did but decided to postpone it because she did not have the courage to face Cereus.

In the story, while crying on the tombstone of Cereus, she wished to turn back time. She regrets not apologizing for her shortcomings and it remained a scar on her heart for the rest of her life.

This is the side story of the outcome of the bad ending- a sorrowful heart forever. Lena thought with a heavy heart.

"Go and tell her what you want to say. What you can do for today, do not wait for tomorrow or you might regret it for the rest of your life."

Aya was taken aback seeing Lena determined. Just like the time when Lena looks at her in the elevator, she looks at her with eyes full of sorrow and sadness, as if she knows something that she didn't.

"I-I'm sorry" Aya said while looking at the ground.

"It's not me you should apologize" Lena pointed towards the corner, seeing a part of a blue dress, it was clearly Cereus who was hiding.

Lena smiled and hinted to Aya to go. Aya was trembling but decided to take courage and put her back in the corner of the wall.

At first, there was a silence between them, then Aya talked.

"I'm sorry..."

"..."

"I know what I did was immature. I always feel envious of you and brother, but that's not an excuse to hurt you. I'm sorry that I am not a better sister to you even if we're half-siblings."
