HK-47: The White Fang's Assassin

Chapter Forty Nine - The Razing Of Menagerie

After the White Fang Empire's victory on Vale, victory was within Adam Taurus's grasp. After a long a bloody war, the goals of the White Fang Empire was almost at hand. All that was left was to destroy any loose ends that even had the slightest chance of undoing all of Adam's progress. At last, the White Fang Empire's iron fist slowly encircled on Menagerie. As the site of Adam Taurus's humiliating defeat, Adam seeks to burn Menagerie to the ground. As the White Fang Empire prepared for the final battle, Blake Belladonna rushed to Menagerie for refuge. Still broken by watching those closest to her die at the hands of her former lover, Blake could only sit back and wait for the White Fang to arrive to finish the job. In the Belladonna Household, Ghira gathers any able bodied Faunus for the fight ahead. Ghira knew that the organization the he founded would soon descend upon Menagerie. Not even the powers of the Spring Maiden could halt the White Fang's relentless assault. As they waited, Blake visited her mother who had been paralyzed by HK-47 during that fateful attack. 

Blake: Mom....I....I'm sorry. This is my fault. Everyone's gone because of me.....

Kali: You couldn't have known that this would happen. None of us could ever anticipate this. 

Blake: Now Adam's coming and he's going to.....

Kali: Your father and I have made peace with the possibility that we may die by Adam's hands. It....it seems inevitable at this point. 

As Kali says this, Ghira enters the room. 

Ghira: Our forces are ready. 

Blake: Are they? You know what Adam has at his disposal. You know what he's capable of. Do you....do you really think there's hope for us? 

Ghira: I don't know, Blake. Perhaps there is no hope for us. But we will stand against them nonetheless. 

As Ghira said this, Blake thought of all that happened. She still struggled with the fact that she was not only the Spring Maiden, but that she had lost those closest to her through this entire thing. She lost more friends than she could count. She lost Yang who she deeply cared for in many ways. But Blake was given no time to reflect on all that has happened as the sound of ships were heard. Blake looked out the window to see the Tartarus leading a massive fleet of White Fang Dreadnoughts on Menagerie. The White Fang Dreadnoughts unleashed a volley of blaster fire which devastated Menagerie. In that moment, the White Fang Empire had arrived. Countless dropships flew out of the Dreadnoughts and landed on the shores of Menagerie. The first Dropship held Adam Taurus and his most loyal lieutenants. As the White Fang invasion force were deployed, HK-47 speaks to Adam. 

HK-47: Analysis: The meatbags are surrounded and have nowhere to go, master. It is very likely the Belladonna meatbags are here.

Adam: The Belladonnas have been a thorn in my side for too long. They are all that stand in the way of total victory. Tonight, Menagerie burns. 

With that, the White Fang began it's invasion of Menagerie. As the Belladonna loyalists attempt to hold the line, Adam Taurus led an army of Faunus and Droid into Menagerie. The Belladonna loyalists found themselves unable to push back against the sheer number of the White Fang Empire. HK-47, Penny and Samanya led the Sword Of The Faunus in storming the Belladonna loyalist defense lines. HK-47 took great pleasure in shooting down any Belladonna loyalist he came across whether it be soldier or civilian. As the White Fang Empire stormed Menagerie, Adam rallied his forces as they converged on the Belladonna Household. 

Adam: LET IT BURN! LET MENAGERIE BURN! BURN IT! BURN IT ALL! BURN MENAGERIE! BURN MENAGERIE!

Following Adam's orders, the White Fang invasion force proceeded to burn down every home they came across. No mercy was shown on the Faunus living in Menagerie. In the eyes of the White Fang Empire, those Faunus were all traitors. In the Belladonna Household, the last remnants of the Belladonna loyalists barricaded the door, but it was only a matter of time until the White Fang breeched the door. In one last attempt to rally his troops, Ghira speaks to his men.

Ghira: SOLDIERS OF MENAGERIE! TO LEAD YOU HAS BEEN MY HONOR! DEATH WAITS FOR US! I SAY WE MAKE HER WAIT A LITTLE LONGER!

As Ghira said this, the doors were breeched as the White Fang swarmed the Belladonna Household. The loyalists hold the line, but they were quickly overwhelmed. Ghira himself tore through Droid and Faunus alike, but HK-47 fires several crippling shots at Ghira bringing him down. As Ghira was brought to his knees, HK-47 aims his blaster rifle. Adam soon approached the wounded Ghira.

Adam: This is the end, Ghira Belladonna.

Ghira: Please....kill me if you must....but please....spare the innocents. Spare them.....

Adam: There are no innocents. None. Finish him off, HK.

HK-47: Commentary: With pleasure, Master!

HK-47 pulled the trigger and killed Ghira. As the White Fang swarmed the Belladonna Household, Kali readies two pistols and aims them at the door. When the White Fang broke through the door, Kali fired on the White Fang, killing two of them before the Sword Of The Faunus moved in and stabbed her to death with their swords. As the last of the Belladonna loyalists were being wiped out, Blake sat in her room, broken by all that has happened. She blamed herself for all that has happened. She knew it was only a matter of time until Adam came for her. It wasn't long before Adam entered her room.

Blake: Adam. 

Soon enough, HK-47 enters the room and aims his blaster rifle at Blake. 

Adam: This was meant to be our time, Blake. This was meant to be our glorious revolution. Instead, you ran away....even now, you run. Now you have nowhere to go, Blake. You're all alone. Everyone you cared for is dead. 

Blake: Only you are left. 

As Blake says this, her eyes lit up as she used the powers of the Spring Maiden to fight Adam and HK-47. A brief duel ensued as Blake used her newfound Maiden powers to attack Adam and HK-47. As far as she was concerned, she was already dead. She at least wanted to take Adam and HK-47 with her. But as she attacked, Adam used his Moonslice Semblance to land a powerful hit on Blake, breaking through her Aura and nearly killing her. Before she could react, HK-47 shot Blake's right leg with his blaster rifle, sending her to the ground. As Blake writhed in pain, HK-47 calmly walked over to Blake and shot her other leg. Blake soon screamed in pain as Adam approached her with his sword drawn.

HK-47: Statement: She's all yours, Master.

As Adam set his eyes on Blake, her heart stopped.

Adam: For the Faunus to prosper, blood must be shed. The Humans must experience our pain. They must know what they put the Faunus through. It will be a glorious revolution, Blake. The Faunus will have their revenge.

HK-47: Declaration: You won't live to see that day, meatbag.

Blake's heart soon sank as she was mere seconds away from death. She kept glancing between Adam and HK-47, wondering who was going to kill her. HK-47 then spoke with Adam.

HK-47: Query: Shall I finish this meatbag off, Master?

Adam: No. She's mine to kill.

HK-47 backed away as Adam raised his sword towards Blake.

Adam: You could've helped me usher in a new world for the Faunus. Now you've squandered this opportunity. It gives me no pleasure in doing this, darling. But you've left me no choice. All enemies of the Faunus must be destroyed without mercy or compassion. Goodbye....

As Adam raised his blade, Blake made no attempt to defend herself. She closed her eyes as Adam decapitates Blake. As the life faded from her eyes, Adam looked upon the lifeless body of his former lover with regret. He had wished Blake remained by his side. But it was not to be. 

Adam: This will be a day long remembered. Now all of Remnant belongs to the White Fang Empire.....

As the Belladonna Household burned to the ground, all White Fang forces evacuated Menagerie as the entire island of Kuo Kuana was glassed by the White Fang Fleet. History is no more for Menagerie. Everyone who lived in Menagerie were slain by the wrathful White Fang Empire. And since Blake's final thoughts were of no one, the powers of the Spring Maiden fell upon a member of a random White Fang soldier by chance. Now the White Fang Empire had all the Maidens at his disposal. As Menagerie burned, the last major pocket of resistance had been crushed. It was now time for the White Fang Empire to establish absolute control over Remnant.
