HK-47: The White Fang's Assassin

Chapter Twenty Two - The Winter Maiden

As the White Fang Empire continued it's assault on the Atlas Academy, HK-47 led the Sword Of The Faunus through the academy, killing anyone who crossed their path. HK-47 showed no mercy as he shot down anyone who tried to escape. Meanwhile in the secure medical facility in the Atlas Academy, Winter was tending to the Winter Maiden Fria.

Fria: What's going on out there? I hear noise.

Winter: The academy is under attack. Don't worry, the facility is secure.

As Winter said that, blaster fire was heard. On instinct, Winter prepared her sword. Meanwhile, HK-47 and the Sword Of The Faunus had killed a group of Atlesian soldiers stationed near the medical facility. HK-47 activated his scanners and picked up two lifeforms inside.

HK-47: Statement: My scanners are picking up two meatbags in this room.

Without hesitation, HK-47 placed several thermal detonators on the door. Once the detonators were primed, HK-47 detonated the explosives, blowing the door open. HK-47 then led the Sword Of The Faunus into the room as Winter Schnee readied her sword. When HK-47 got a good look at Winter, the assassin droid became interested.

HK-47: Query: Another Schnee? It seems my master missed one.

Winter: I know who you are, droid. You're the droid that murdered my mother and brother.

HK-47: Mockery: Killing those insufferable meatbags brought satisfaction to my behavior core. It is regrettable that I can only kill them once.

As HK-47 said that, several Atlesian oldiers arrived and surrounded HK-47 and the Sword Of The Faunus. The assassin droid simply becomes annoyed.

HK-47: Analysis: This academy is infested with meatbags. Killing all of you will take some time.

Winter: Kill them.

With that, the Atlesian soldiers began firing on the Sword Of The Faunus while Winter took the fight to HK-47 himself. Winter uses her Glyphs Semblance to summon a swarm of small Nevermores. HK-47 was able to shoot down the Glyphs with ease while observing Winter's fighting style.

HK-47: Advisory: Prepare to die, meatbag!

As HK-47 fires on Winter, she uses her Glyphs to summon a protective barrier which blocks the blaster shots. She then lunges at the assassin droid and attacks him with several Dust attacks from her sword. As Winter seems to gain the upper hand on HK-47, she presses the attack.

Winter: I'm shutting you down, droid!

HK-47: Mockery: Your organic flailings amuse me!

HK-47 then lands a devastating punch on Winter's face. The force of the punch sent her flying across the wound. As she got up, Winter was barely able to react when HK-47 fired a volley of blaster fire at her. Winter summoned a Glyph to protect herself. As Winter fought against HK-47, the Sword Of The Faunus held their own against the Atlesian Soldiers. During the fighting, a female Wolf Faunus member of the elite group managed to slip away and made her way deeper into the medical facility. As she moved through the medical facility, she found herself face to face with the frail Fria.

Fria: Hello there, young one. Would you like some tea?

The Sword Of The Faunus member said nothing as she gripped her sword. Her hatred of Humans for their treatment of the Faunus took over as Fria was unaware of the woman's identity.

Fria: Always on the move. I remember being like that when I was your age. Always ready to save the world. It seems so long ago. How long ago was it?

Without hesitation, the member of the Sword Of The Faunus raised her sword.

???: In the name of the Faunus and by the will of the White Fang Empire, I sentenced you to die.

In one swift stroke, the Wolf Faunus impaled Fria in the chest with her sword. Meanwhile, Winter continued to fight against HK-47. The fight turned into a stalemate as Winter was unable to land the killing blow on the assassin droid. She glanced over to the room where Fria was only to see the Sword Of The Faunus member fatally wounding Fria.

Winter: No!

In that brief lapse of concentration, HK-47 capitalized on this and attacks Winter. Before she could react, HK-47 begins to beat her to a bloody pulp. In a last ditch effort, Winter unleashes a blast of fire Dust to push HK-47 back. She then moves for the killing blow, but HK-47 quickly recovers from the attack and when she got close, HK-47 snapped Winter's neck 180 degrees. As Winter fell to her knees, she proceeded to cough blood before dying on the ground. As HK-47 killed Winter, Fria's death caused the powers of the Winter Maiden to be transferred to the Sword Of The Faunus member. Curious, HK-47 approaches her.

HK-47: Query: What is your name?

???: My...my name is Samanya. What happened?

HK-47 walked over to Fria's lifeless body and ran some scans. To his surprise, there was nothing of note.

HK-47: Answer: This meatbag is....something. I'm sure High Leader Taurus will be most interested in this development.

With Winter dead, HK-47 and the Sword Of The Faunus continued moving through the halls of the Atlas Academy. What they didn't know was that Samanya had inherited the powers of the Winter Maiden through the killing of Fria. With the Winter Maiden now firmly in the hands of the White Fang Empire, the White Fang Empire had gained a powerful weapon to use in it's war against Remnant. But this was only a taste of what is to come.
