Five minutes away from our exit the car popped up again.
"Enzo's creepy car popped up again."
"Shit, okay. Do you have your gun in your purse?" Without a word I pulled it out.
"It's completely loaded, there's more rounds in the glove compartment."
"Good, now go back to looking out. Let me know if you can't see him or he moves to my side." Enzo sped off and the car sped up as well.
I looked over at Enzo.
"Enzo, they're getting closer."
"Where?"
"My side."
They were both weaving in and out of cars. I looked out my window to see them right next to us. The driver wined down the window just low enough from them to shoot and for us to not see them. Their dumb ass was on my side, if only if they knew what happened last time.
*BAMB BAMB.*
This motherfucker just shot at us. They're going down. At that last moment they hit the break and took the exit.
"FUCK YOU!" I screamed as I shot one time deflating the tires. Their tires screeched as the took the exit.
I turned to Enzo."Are you okay baby?"
"I'm fine, Juls but look at your arms."
Glass had cut my arms in different places.
"Jesus Christ." I didn't realize I was hurt because of all the rage. That car is lucky it got away when it did.
"Here take one of my gym shirts." Enzo said, handing me one. I looked at him looking at disguised.
"Don't worry it's clean now, use it."
He called some guards and his home security people to check if there was anyone lurking. Thank god that was a big fat no. I just wanted to get back to the house and sleep.
"Ow, Enzo that hurts." I said, wincing at the pain as I sat on his counter.
"Well stay still and it wouldn't hurt as much." He was pulling some glass pieces out of my arms with tweezers. All of the sudden this man have hand eye coordination.
"Done."
"Finally, please never become a nurse of something."
"Yeah finally."
Enzo cleaned up the wounds and bandaged up the cuts.
A question popped up in my head. Could I be right?
"Do you think they were trying to shoot me and not you?" I suggested.
"Stop Juliet, that's crazy."
"No Enzo. You have to listen to me." I said while jumping off the counter.
"Last time we were here the Popov's were shooting at my side. Not yours and you're the leader here. I leave for Ireland secretly, no one tries to shoot me and or the girls. When I come back to New York we get followed again. Again it's on my side of the car, not yours. Unless someone was stalking you and shooting at you when I was gone. Did anyone?"
Enzo thought for a minute.
No, no one did. But I'm wondering why you?"
"I don't know. We probably won't be 100% on who was shooting again because we didn't see their face or faces. Unless you did?"
"No I didn't. You have to go back to Italy then. You're not safe here Juliet."
"No, if I leave they'll see it as a weakness. They'll see it as leverage. If we're going to be away from each other we'll be worried even more than if I stayed. We leave in less than a week. On top of that Aurora's not here to take over as well."
"Fine then we won't go out anymore besides the base. We'll have more body guards with us as well."
"Great, I love the sound of that. But it's the right decision."
