Tonight my dad planned dinner with some close friends. When I mean close friends I mean everyone who lived in the house, including Uncle paul. Then there was Enzo and Felix. He's the one who took over for Nico because Nico bailed and went who knows where. Enzo say's Nico's in California but we both doubt it.
"Before we eat I would like to make a small speech." My dad said.
The room became quiet after that.
"We have made huge progress in our businesses and a huge progress on lowering the Russians. Today I want to tell you something else about that. To make both of us stronger we will be joining forces. Aurora and Enzo will marry."
My heart sank to the core of the earth, my world was crumbling. It felt like I was drowning, I couldn't speak. Wanting to breath but not being able too.
"WHAT DID UOU JUST SAY PAPA?" Aurora screamed.
"You heard me, this will happen and it will happen soon."
"No papa I won't marry Enzo, you can't make me do it."
"Yes I can." Aurora was speechless, but it was my turn to talk. And I won't hold back on this.
"No papa that will not be happening." I said.
"Shut up Juliet, this has nothing to do with you." My dad said. Little did he know it did.
"Yes it does. You're just going to push them into this marriage that obviously no one wants."
"My marriage with your mother was arranged. And like that one this will also be arranged."
"Oh yeah papa because that worked out so well. Leaving us behind, not talking to me till I reached out after my mom died which you had no clue about. Listening to that makes an arranged marriage sound wonderful. On top that grandpa and grandma's arranged marriage worked out so good as well.
"You will not talk to me like that!"
"You know I'm right papa!"
"What you don't know is that it's good for business."
"Oh so now Aurora is just business now?" He paused with no expression on his face.
"Why are you fighting this more than she is?"
"Because Enzo and I are engaged. Enzo and I are in love! We've been in love for a long time and now you're making the love of my life marry my sister! That's why! And I'm not sorry for my feelings." "
"Enzo, is this true?" Maria asked.
"Yes. Yes, it is very true. True to the point where I asked her to marry me and she said yes."
The room was dead silent. So silent you can hear a hair pin drop.
"How long has it been going on?" My dad asked.
"Us being together has been about 2 years."
"Two years?"
"Yes papa, two years. Now look at what you're doing to them." Aurora said.
When I cooled down I realized something.
"You knew about this. Didn't you, Enzo?" No answer.
"Answer me now!"
"Yes Juls, but I thought I could stop this conversation from even happening. That he would be okay with our marriage." Enzo said with guilt in his eyes.
"You two disgust both of me and I will never respect either of you if this marriage happens." I ran.
I didn't know where too but I found myself outside in the front of the house.
