It's been two weeks since Maria's shooting. I'm all healed up and back to normal. I just had two scars. Enzo had called me, asking me where I was. I told him in my dad's hospital room and he is now on his way here. My dad had an infection in his lungs which I wasn't surprised by. I sat by him all day and watched tv. Sometimes I did some work, I was just staying on top of things. He talked a little bit here and there but nothing big.
"Hey guys." Enzo said while walking in. He brought over fresh clothes for my dad.
They talked about some business while I knitted a blanket for my dad while I was sitting on the window sill. I was lost in my thoughts, I will physically go back to work once my dad is back home.
"Juliet, your dad has something to say to you." I put my things down and hopped down out the window sill and walked over to his bed. Enzo stood next to me rubbing my shoulders.
"Yes papa?" "
B-bl- bles- bless."
"Bless?" I look at him.
"My bless."
"Enzo what does he mean?" I turned to see Enzo on one knee.
"He's giving us his blessing." I started tearing up.
"Juliet Gallo, I promise to love you forever. I promise to take care of you forever. I promise to be an amazing husband and one day an amazing father. Will you please be Mrs. Juliet Riva?"
"Yes yes a million times yes."
He stood up, picked me up and spun me around. I could hear her clapping from the door, there stood Aurora and Uncle Paul.
"Did you guys plan this?" I asked all four.
"Yeah we did Juliet. I wanted to make this moment as beautiful as it could be. When I went to visit your father the first day it was a little meeting for my proposal." Enzo slipped the ring onn, I studied it for a minute.
"Is this the middle one?"
"From your mom's wedding ring, yes it is." Enzo said.
"How did you do?"
"I asked one of my men to go through your storage unit in New York to find it and they did. Your dad gave me the okay to look for it." Enzo slipped the ring on my figure.
When it was on my finger completely I started sobbing. I knew my mom was always watching over me but once I made my choice in life she was there. To other people it might just be a piece of jewelry but to me it meant much more.
"I love it, you're amazing."
I kissed Enzo on the check and walked over to my dad.
"Thanks papa I love you so much." I kissed him on the cheek.
He spoke up.
"I'm sorry figlia." He took deep breath "I'm proud of you." He took and even deeper breath. "Follow you heart with Enzo."
I looked at him and held his hand tightly.
"I always will papa. I want to say thank you. If you didn't invite me to stay I wouldn't have met Enzo. I also wouldn't have met Aurora and wouldn't be united with Uncle Paul again. You came into my life again as well. You mean the world to me. We'll get through this as a family. I love you and I always will."
I kissed his hand and let it go. I walked over to Enzo.
"Thank you for doing this. It means a lot to me that somehow you got his blessing."
"Don't thank me. I will always put you and your feeling first." He kissed my lips.
"As a little celebration I brought cookies and ice cream." Aurora said.
"Please tell me you didn't make the cookies." I asked
Aurora was extremely sweet but could not cook or bake for shit.
"No I didn't. Now let's celebrate!" Aurora was so happy. ———————————————————————————— Finally they got Aldo's blessing! Did you think this would ever happen?
