It Was Never Meant To Be (Time Traveler #4)

AN: This chapter's a bit more morbid than I had originally planned. Just throwing that out there, and you'll see what I mean by that soon enough.

Corpse's POV: (7:30 P.M.)

Where the hell is he? I texted him almost an hour ago to come to the bathroom and yet he's still not here! I'm not sure how long it'll be until Rae finds me in here, and in which case, I'll be screwed beyond belief. I mean, Rae's a beautiful woman and an amazing person, but dating her? Yeah, my heart belongs to Imane, and Imane alone. It wasn't long before I finally heard the bathroom door crack open.

"Sorry it took so long." He said as he closed the bathroom door behind him.

"Dude! Where the hell have you been?! It's been over 45 minutes and Rae's gonna find me in here eventually!" I reminded him of the urgency of our predicament.

"Yeah I know! Just took me a while to get Miyoung to let go of me, that's all." He explained to me as I rolled my eyes. I was just so sick and tired of all this shit. I hope that Michael can just fix it up, so that we can just go home and accept our fates, because I fear that if we do this for any longer, my new relationship with Imane won't live through it.

"Whatever, have you talked to Michael about the tape measure thing yet?" I asked him, skipping all the bullshit and jumping straight to the point.

"Yes, he said that he could fix it in like the next 15 minutes or something like that. I'm gonna go talk to him soon and see how close he is to finishing it." He informed me as I nodded. Everything was going fine so far, I just needed to go another 15 minutes without looking at, being with, or talking to Rae. Simple, right? I sure hope so.

"Alright good, I'll just stay in here for the next 15 minutes then." I proposed up until Sykkuno stopped me.

"Actually, I kinda need to go to the bathroom while I'm here so..." He said, basically telling me to get the fuck out. I rolled my eyes and left the room quietly, allowing him to do his business in peace. I looked up and down the hall for whether or not Rae was in the vicinity. Once I knew the coast was clear, I made my move down the hall with the intention of just locking myself in the guest bedroom, but when I turned the corner, my heart instantly sank to my stomach. It was Rae.

"Oh my gosh! Where have you been sweetie?! I've been looking everywhere for you!" She said as she cupped my cheeks and held me close. She had on a rather revealing bikini that unfortunately caused me to trace her body up and down out of instinct, but soon made me throw up in my mouth just thinking about. I just kind of stuttered and just let out a bullshit response like I always typically do in situations like these.

"Uhhh, I got lost..." I said what was possibly the most vague thing possible as she just giggled in response. But then she did it, the one thing that I prayed she wouldn't do tonight. She closed her eyes, leaned in, and kissed me. I made a valiant attempt to pull away and escape but the grip she had on me was firm and the way she constantly deepened the kiss to my lack of reciprocation made it nearly impossible to weasel my way out of.

When she finally pulled away after what had to be like 30 seconds at least, she just smiled at me widely whilst accompanying it with that classic Valkyrae giggle that I'd become accustomed to now after years of friendship. It's a shame that it was now being used in this disgusting, and in my opinion borderline incestuous manner. I just cringed at it all and instantly tried to figure out a way out of this.

"Anyways, what have you really been up to? Any secrets you hiding deep daddy." She emphasized the last bit, causing me to dies inside, though it wasn't in vein, as I did figure out a natural way to get out of hanging out with Rae. If I was gonna be out of here soon anyways, then it didn't necessarily matter what I told her, so I just lied, while in the process gaining some useful information.
