Yes I Will! (Short Story)

AN: We've all seen Abe's original proposal to Wendy, but what if I told you that this wasn't his first attempt at it? Yeah, in this AU things go just a biiiiiit differently.

Abe's POV:

"Oh my gosh Abe, the view is amazing!" Wendy called out in her heavenly voice as we both sat on the rather fluffy, green grass. My girlfriend wasn't wrong either. It truly was an incredible sight to behold. We were facing towards an incredible orange pink sunset that was waving goodbye as it was slowly yet surely falling out of sight beyond the pacific ocean, and at the same time directly behind us the night sky began to show, and the stars weren't very far behind. And in the midst of the emerging night skies and submerging day were perfectly blended together by a calm, clear blue sky. Not only that but we were on a cliffside, dozens of meters above banks upon banks of sand leading up to the coast line. It was just a perfect setting in general, but especially perfect for what I had planned.

"Ehem, um Wendy? I have something that I've been meaning to ask you for a while. It's been eating me up inside for the longest time, and... I just don't see a better time than right now." I informed her, instantly grabbing her attention.

"Yes babe? What is it?" She asked, now completely invested in what I had to say to her, just as I had planned. I smiled, took a deep breath and pulled out the small ring box from the pocket of my leather jacket.

It was a ring box, and I smiled knowing that this moment was finally going to happen after such a long wait. This was it! This is my proposal to Wendy! I already had a secret camera set up pretty close by behind some bushes so that I can secretly record this. I never wanted to forget this moment. It may have taken a while to get here, but when she says yes, it'll be so worth the wait.

I opened the box and my heart dropped. The ring was gone. It was fucking gone! What the fuck?! Where did it go?! The last time I even remember taking it out of the box was when I went over to Rae and Syk's place, to talk to them about our trip to Vegas in a few days. It must've fallen out of the box there or something. I have to go get it! Ah, and this literally was the perfect moment to propose to! And I'll probably never get a better opportunity to.

"Babe?" Wendy called out as I came back to reality and realized I had just been sitting there, not saying anything for over a minute.

"Oh uh! Yeah I was just wondering if we could go hit the beach down there before it gets too dark." I improvised something really stupid and she smiled at me.

"Of course we can you dummy!" She said as she sprung up and started walking down the cliffside, taking me up on my offer.

I let out a sigh of frustration. Welp, I guess I'll just have to propose to her in Vegas then... wonder if I could maybe get Ryan and some other people to help out and make it extra special.

Sykkuno's POV:

I was busy freshening up the living room, fixing up the couch, vacuuming, cleaning up any stains. Y'know, all the stuff that a stay at home father would do. I always saw myself in that role, staying at home, cooking, cleaning, taking care of Rae and I's kids as she would go out there and, her being the fine business woman she is, similar to Poki, she would be out making bank and bossing people around like the bad bitch she truly was. I was so lucky to have someone as successful and hot as her as my girlfriend. She makes me feel complete, but while I do genuinely want that life with Rae that I just described eventually, I would rather not have that right now.

Don't get me wrong, I love her to my hearts delight, and she loves me too. We're 100% getting married eventually, but I just don't want that now. I like the sort of slow pace were taking things. Being far less physical then most relationships, I mean hell we've only had sex like a few times now in the span of us dating well over a year now. We hooked up only a couple months after meeting one another, and I could feel that we could both tell that we were gonna last forever. So I just love how we're taking our nice and sweet time with each other, getting to get that flow and experience of dating one another before immediately jumping into marriage. Maybe I'll propose to her eventually like... within the next year or something, I don't know.

While I was absent-mindedly cleaning the room, I noticed something on the carpet next to some wrappers. I got a closer look at it and realized that it was a ring with quite a large diamond on it. I naturally assumed that the ring belonged to Rae, and so I picked it up, went over to the stairs and called up to her.

"Rae! Can you come down here?"

"Yeah just a second!" She yelled back as I observed the ring a bit more. It looked outstanding. Like it cost several thousands! The diamond attached to it was perfectly chiseled and extremely shiny all the while to actual ring portion looked to be a silver color with an interesting texture to it. As I was studying it, Rae came down the stairs and I quickly palmed the ring in my hands. Since the ring must've been hers, and she had probably been looking everywhere for it, I wanted to give her a slight surprise when I gave it to her.

"Yeah Syk, what's going on." She said with a smile as she walked up to me and gave me a quick peck on the lips which I reciprocated. Once we separated, I got to the revelation for her.

"So, I'm sure you've just been waiting for me to give this to you already so, I'll just get straight to it." I said as I held up the ring. Her face was strangely blushing madly upon seeing it, and when I placed it in her hands, she looked completely speechless for some reason, so I decided to elaborate more. "Here! This belongs to you! I found it over by the-" I was in the middle of explaining how I found it to her until I looked up and saw the strangest reaction from her end. She was smiling widely and her eyes were red, tears streaming down her face rapidly. She didn't even give me a chance to ask about it before she let out all of her emotions on me.

"Yes! Yes yes yes! Oh Thomas I thought you'd never ask me! I love you so much! Come here..." She poured her heart out to me as I merely looked at her in confusion, and in my confused state I certainly didn't expect her to pull me in for a passionate kiss. It was by far one of the most passionate we've ever had, and I really wasn't used to it, which is why I did very little reciprocation. Once she pulled away she slipped the ring on her finger, and almost showed it off to herself, seeing how good it looked on her. It was at that moment where my dense brain finally understood what she was on about and instantly did my best to correct myself, but to no avail.

"R-Rae! I think you might've misunderstood m-EEE!" I jolted at the end as she squeezed me half to death. I could feel all the love emanating from her and while I was glad that she was happy, it was all for a reason that wasn't very intentional on my end.

"Oh baby what's the point of even talking anymore? We're engaged now! We're finally gonna get married, just like I've been dreaming about recently! Don't get me wrong, I liked our slow approach at a relationship a lot, but I was beginning to think we were going too slow. That eventually time would catch up to us before we even get married! I was even starting to think that your intentions with me weren't all that serious. Boy was I wrong. Oh Thomas you've made me the happiest woman on earth! I love you so so much!" She once again dumped out all her thoughts, feelings, and emotions on me all at once as I figured, 'ah screw it'.

I mean I was gonna marry Rae anyways right? The more I think about it, it would be silly not to do it now. I followed Rae's advice and just went with this moment. Welp, looks like I'm engaged to the most beautiful girl in the world now all by accident! Obviously I wasn't gonna tell her that though...

And one things for sure. When word gets out about our engagement, Abe is gonna be pissed that I've just stolen all of his thunder...
