Beautiful (Short Story)

AN: Another more wholesome one, in fact all of these few that I'm posting will have more wholesome elements to it since I've been writing way too much smut lately. And no I won't be going overboard with sexual details like last time, though there may be a paragraph or two of some slightly graphic detail (no blood or guts or anything, don't worry).

Poki's POV:

I was startled awake by the sounds of distant yelling as well as some crumbling from inside the walls. I yanked the covers off and got up out of bed, trying to see what all the ruckus was about. I opened the door swiftly only to recoil back due to the nearby flames spread across the floor and all around the walls. Toast and Sykkuno were running round the house, banging on doors trying to wake everyone up and other people like Corpse, Lily, Michael, and Tina were all making their way out the front door. Horrified by the sight, I immediately turned on my heels and went to go wake Rae who was sleeping in the bed next to mine, somehow sleeping through all of this. 

"RAE!!! RAE WE HAVE TO GET OUT OF HERE WAKE THE FUCK UP!" I yelled at Rae, startling her awake as she too looked around in confusion not knowing what was going on.

"Poki? What's wrong?!" Rae yelled back at me as off in the distance a part of the roof had apparently collapsed and caused a massive shaking chain reaction around the whole house as dust began to fall off the ceiling and the fires spread more rapidly.

"We have to get out of here the house is on fire!" I quickly explained to her as she soon scrambled out of bed and we both rushed out the bedroom door and down the hall towards the stairs. We both peered over the fencing down to the first floor of the OTV house, which was way worse in the realm of flames spreading throughout, though the upstairs fire wasn't too far behind us, meaning that we had to keep on moving. I was in front of Rae meaning that I had to carefully climb down the poorly supported stairs to the bottom floor, and while it was easily the most stressful thing I've ever had to do, I made it to the 1st floor and could see the front door just to my left, though the fire was rapidly spreading throughout the house and I wasn't sure how long the front door was gonna be an option.

I couldn't leave yet though, I had to wait for Rae who was too carefully making her way down the rickety stairs, but unfortunately for her, a few of the middle stairs had collapsed as soon as she put even a little bit of weight on them, causing them to break and fall down to reveal fire below.

"AAAAAHHHHH!!! POKI HELP! AHHHHH!" Rae screamed her head off as not only was she now trapped up on the second floor, the flames behind her were now growing more intense. I freaked out, not really knowing what to do, but as soon as I heard the distant sounds of sirens outside the house, I knew that was the only thing I could do to help, as slightly selfish as it could seem at face value.

"Hang on Rae! I'm going to get help for you!!!" I yelled up at her over the sounds of the house crumbling around us and the fire raging. Rae held onto the railing and tried to stay as far away from the flames behind her as possible whilst still doing her best not to fall through the newly placed gap in the stairs. "Don't go anywhere!"

"I wasn't planning on it!!!" Rae screamed back at me as I ran towards the front door, being careful to avoid the fire surrounding the route to the door. I coughed due to all of the smoke I was running directly into but nonetheless sprinted towards the front door and ran through it only to run straight into the arms of both Toast and Sykkuno.

"Poki are you okay?!" Toast yelled at me over all the much louder sounds of the fire trucks pulling up on the house. I finished coughing up all the smoke still in my airways before I responded.
