"Oh shut up," you laughed, punching him in the shoulder playfully.

The next day, you woke up in a good mood. After all, it was your birthday.

You stepped outside the house into the sunlight, the street bustling more than usual so you decided to go and check if anything's at the town square. As you neared, cheerful music got louder and louder and people around you seemed to be in a fairly good mood as well.

"Good morning, Amiga," Camilo greeted from beside you cheerfully.

"Hey, Camilo," you smiled. "What's this all about? Because of me?" you joked.

"No, but I did get you a present," he beamed, handing you a card. "I know it's small but I still hope you like it. Happy birthday, Y/n."

You observed the card - it had a beautifully painted, magical-looking forest on it and in the middle of it all there was a quote. "Because of you, I laugh a little harder, cry a little less and smile a lot more," you murmured, reading it to yourself before looking up at Camilo and giving him a hug. "I love it! Absolutely! I'll frame it and put it on the wall!"

He laughed lightly. "I'm glad. But come on, look at the other side too."

You flipped the paper over, now reading the other side. "Happy 15th Birthday! Please, under no circumstances read the next part out loud..." Camilo looked away bashfully, playing with his hands. You smiled softly. '...or it would be really embarrassing for me. Anyway, I wrote you a poem.

That day we met on the hill

shall forever be engraved into my brain.

Because that they we met on the hill,

I thought it was insine.

What,

you might ask.

That I could drop

the mask.

Could be myself around you,

no impression to keep up.

I mean - no need to choose someone

from the impersonating lineup.

So that day we met on the hill

will be forever engraved into my brain.

Because meeting you was an absolute gain.'

You raised your eyes from the card, looking at him.

"It's cheesy, I know," he said. "But I mean it - you're the first person besides my family that I can fully be myself around."

Your smile "I like it," you said before admiring it again. "Did you paint it yourself?"

"Yeah," he grinned. "Only for you, Y/n~"

You playfully rolled your eyes at his cheesiness before carefully slipping the card into your bag - it was like Mirabel's but mainly beige and yellow tones. "So, Señor Madrigal," you started, "you never told me what all this is about."

"Oh, it's the fall festival," he smiled. "Starting tomorrow, lasts three days and ends with a lunch at our place. One of the best events of the year if you ask me."

"Hmm, so these are the preparations," you summed up before ducking out of the way of a ladder that was being carried by Ethan. "You're doing a good job, Eddy!" you called after him, being the supportive sister you are.

"Yeah," he chuckled before looking at you with a look you couldn't decipher. "Well then. Care to dance?"
