That. "Coming!" you informed them before ushering the boys out of the room and going after them yourself.

You and your family walked through the village borderline little town, your younger siblings shouting and pointing excitedly at something every once in a while. You were also astonished by the surroundings but you didn't show it as animatedly as your siblings, instead, a soft content and rare smile crossed your lips and you didn't do anything to hide it.

You and your family's aim was set to the big house on the hill since apparently, that's where the Madrigals lived. You were pretty excited to meet them. Correction. You were very excited to meet them. The excitement of meeting new people bubbled in your chest and subconsciously, you started to quicken your pace.

"Race you there!" Aiden yelled suddenly, bolting past you. Now don't get it wrong, you were a fairly peaceful person... mostly. But you were so competitive. And so, without waiting another second, you took off after him, not complaining about his head start because he was 5 years younger than you after all.

You ran as fast as your legs take you. You had to admit, Aiden was a good runner. But he was still 5 years younger than you so you stubbornly refused to let him be better than you in anything. Actually, you just wanted to keep the fact that you were faster than him. It was the only thing you were super determined about since come on! It's not logical for him to be faster than you despite him being a boy!

"First!" he shouted, running into the garden. He wasn't.

"Nope, I was here with you, I just didn't shout," you denied. It was true. More or less.

He huffed. "A tie?"

"A tie," you nodded, panting as you two waited for your other family members to catch up. "Although I admit, you're getting faster."

"What's that? Big sis Y/n saying I'm better than her at running?" he teased.

You hit his shoulder with a playful glare. "That's not what I said, Denny."

"But it's what I heard," he mused but took a step away. Truth is, he was a bit afraid of you.

"Why do... you two... always have to run off like... that?" Ethan panted, also stepping in the garden.

"Life is a competition, Eddy," you said matter-of-factly. "Get used to it already."

"Calm down kids," your mother reminded, walking past you three with your father and the girls. You straightened your back, steadying your breath and gesturing the boys to do the same. Then you three followed after the other half of your family.
