"Esther's not a forgetting person though," your grandfather said with a sigh. "I think that's the problem here. Y/n's started overthinking the possibilities."
Bruno stood from his armchair in his hideout with a gasp of realization and quickly put a few of his rats on his shoulders before taking the telenovela templates and going out of the hideout. He took the course to your room - during the few weeks, you two had started bonding over stories and telenovelas so when he got a new idea, the first thing he decided to do was tell you so you two could make it even more awesome.
"Y/n?" he knocked on your door. No answer. He knocked again. Still nothing. "Can I come in? I had this idea." He quietly pushed the door open a bit, peaking in. His eyes reached for you before he found what he was looking for and smiled softly. There you were, sleeping peacefully. He quietly closed your door, letting you sleep. After all - he was sure you hadn't done that in a while.
He went to the kitchen and took an arepa, giving a bite to each of his rats before taking one himself. "Bruno, hey," Julieta greeted, coming into the kitchen from the pantry. "Since you're here, can you help me lay the table? It's lunchtime soon."
"Yeah, no problem," he nodded before taking a few of the plates.
Soon, everyone had gathered. Well, except for you. "Where's Y/n?" your grandfather asked, looking around worriedly.
"Probably still sleeping," Bruno commented. "She was 10 minutes ago when I went to talk to her about a telenovela and I doubt she's woken up."
Your grandfather nodded. "But she should still eat with us, I'll go wake her up."
The others nodded and murmured in agreement before your grandfather stood up and went to your room. "Mi Nieta, it's lunch time," he said softly, shaking your shoulder.
"I didn't steal the sandcastle!" you yelped, sitting up.
Back in the dining room, Dolores choked on water before laughing.
"Dolores? What's going on?" Alma asked, everyone else also looking at Dolores.
"She didn't steal the sandcastle-" Dolores laughed.
"It's true, the soup king was the one who stole arepa king's sandcastle," you huffed, plopping down. "It's unfair though because the arepa king already had a big castle made out of milk."
After a short silence, everyone around the table started laughing. You huffed offendedly. "I can't control what I dream of!"
"No, of course, it's not your fault," Camilo assured, patting your hand and trying to restrain his laughter. He handed you a plate. "Here, I got you some food so you don't have to go to the kitchen."
"Thank you," you nodded, the others around the table also slowly quieting down while watching the interaction. "How'd it go with Rosalie?"
"It went great, don't worry," he assured. "If you ever need, I can fill in for you again."
You smiled before Pepa spoke. "Are you feeling better now, Y/n? After you got some sleep?"
"A lot actually," you smiled but it soon morphed into a frown. "Any letters?"
Your grandfather looked down sadly. "No. But I decided I'll go after them so you don't have to worry. I'll write you every three days so you have nothing to worry about until I do that," he assured.
"Oh, alright," you said quietly, not really able to process everything. "When will you leave?"
"Right after lunch," he informed.
"Are you sure you don't want to wait until the morning?" Julieta asked.
"No, thank you," he denied. "The faster I go, the faster I get there and the faster Y/n will be able to feel great again." He ruffled your hair.
You giggled. "Thank you, Abuelo."
"Alright, back to work now, everybody," Alma said. "There's still a lot to do before we can take a break for the day. La Familia Madrigal!"
"La Familia Madrigal," you muttered, aware that you weren't really a part of the family although they wanted to make you feel like it.
