A/N: A Very Happy New Year Guys. 🥂🍾

A gift from my end.

This Chapter included scenes of Pankhuri as well but had to remove it as I had to upload it tonight, and it was not yet completed, neither was this, but it was easy to complete one scene, at the place of two. So Hope you all enjoy and start your year with a new Chapter.

I will re-upload this chapter soon (Probably after 12th Jan) with Pankhuri's scenes as well, keep an eye on that.

Happy Reading

'Searching for this Chintan?'

A familiar feminine voice hit Chintan's eardrums, he abruptly looked up, while still sitting on his knees. His face softened, and he fell back on his ass while calling out 'Dev...'

Devika looked at him with a crooked smile, shooting her eyebrows up, she greeted him. She stood there in front of him in a black coat and pants paired with a crisp white formal shirt, and black pumps looking all snazzy, ready for the workday. Chintan stared at her face with an ajar mouth before his eyes traveled up to her hand next to her face. And there it was his rose gold ring, in her pinch.

His precious possession

'Searching for this C...huh?'

She ended with a questioning sound at the end, while bringing the ring in front. Chintan's face abruptly changed, and he scoffed with relief while getting up.

'Hehe...yeah...Dev...give it...' He got up with a little support from the chair. He walked towards her while sheepishly smiling and looking down at his steps, feeling embarrassed. He finally looked up when he reached close enough to grasp the ring in his fist.

He moved his hand towards the ring that she held in between them, but before he could hold it, she wrapped her fingers around it and pulled back, while a smile still adored her face. With an extra curve at one end.

Chintan frowned at her action and looked toward her in surprise. 'What happened...? Come on Pass it...' He chuckled at her childish action as he opened his palm in front of her waiting for her to keep it in his palm.

Devika looked at his palm for a moment before looking back at his face. Chintan could tell by just looking at her face that something was going through her mind, not sure what, but something for sure.

'Yeah, sure...' She spoke suddenly with a little pause. She wiped the smile off her face and slowly moved her hand to keep it on his palm, the ring touched his palm, and just as he was about to confine it between his fingers, Devika pulled it back raising her eyebrows.

'Isn't this your engagement ring, Chintan...' Suddenly she asked, acting all surprised as if she does not know. Chintan's expression changed from confused to hard. He looked down at her fist for a moment that was next to his palm and looked back at her face while gulping.

He stayed silent for a few moments unsure what to say, he didn't want to let her know he was panicking about his engagement ring, in case she had seen him panicking like a crazy dog chasing after his tail.

He opened his mouth to instantly deny it, but as if Devika read his mind she spoke even before he could start, leaving Chintan's lips parted.

'Oh yeah...it is...' She looked at him with shining eyes waiting for a response while still catching even the slightest change in his expression. Chintan heard her and slowly, nervously closed his mouth back while gulping a lump, his Adam's apple bobbled up a little in the process. Unsure what to say or do. He simply nodded as he never got any response
