Pankhuri sat on the stage alone as Chintan left her. She felt really uneasy when she saw his expression change. She didn't know how to react in that situation.
'Should I ask him...' Pankhuri thought to herself but brushed it away thinking it might be really nosing into the matter. She leaned back on the chair and looked around while waiting.
Suddenly her eyes went towards the door as Chintan walked inside the hall with a beautiful and tall lady by his side.
The lady wore a magenta saree, as she walked on her heels. Her body swayed perfectly. She noticed the lady had her hands wrapped around Chintan's masculine arm.
He smiled as the woman whispered something into his ears while walking towards Pankhuri. Both of them came near Pankhuri and gave her a big smile.
'O My God...so I am finally meeting you Pankhuri...' And the lady hugged her kissing the air.
'Pankhuri...meet her...she is Devika Sarang...my old good friend' Chintan completed and removed Devika's hand from his arms. Then he walked next to Pankhuri.
Suddenly Pankhuri felt his cold palm on her bare waist. It gave her chills, she felt his palm rubbing against her skin, and then the arm got wrapped around her waist.
Chintan made a grip and pulled her to his chest. Pankhuri's upper arm rubbed against his white shirt.
'Oo My God...you both look so cute...' Devika giggled and looked at them with a heart-eye expression.
Chintan chuckled and spoke 'don't worry Pankhuri...she is not a crackhead normally, but I guess today is something special...' Chintan smiled, continued 'Btw she is my friend from college, school and work as well, she's a lawyer'
Pankhuri's lips curved into a small smile.
Chintan's eyes directly fell on her lips. Devika noticed his strong gaze and cleared her throat, bringing back Chintan to his self.
'And also his part-time ass saver' and Devika winked at the soon to be a couple. Devika excused herself and moved to Chetanya and others.
Pankhuri and Chintan both sat back, as one by one people came, whished them, clicked a picture, and left.
Pankhuri still had the same thing in her mind, the disappearing smile. Suddenly she felt his lips near her ear, and she froze.
'I have a gift for you...but I can't give that to you here...meet me after the party...I'll come to your room, be alone'
Before Pankhuri could reply or react, Chintan and her were pulled by the cousins and friends and later got busy with other things. The ceremony went smoothly after that. She was pulled to one corner by her cousins and vice versa. But throughout the ceremony, she could feel his gaze on her.
Whenever she caught him in the act, he would just smile and look away. Pankhuri blushed.
After the ceremony slowly everybody went into their respective rooms to rest. Pankhuri with a lot of effort convinced the overly drained Pallavi who just ate and danced throughout the party, to go away for just half an hour, so Chintan could come into her room.
As Pallavi walked out of the room, she stopped and turned around
'Pankh...don't forget to give him the return gift I told you about...' And she winked waving her hands.
Pankhuri looked at her with widened eyes, scaring Pallavi away. She shook her head and shut the door. Her heartbeat fasten.
Thanks to God her parents and she didn't share the same floor, otherwise, it would have caused a mess. She messaged him to come, as he had asked for.
