🍻'So when is he returning from Delhi' Neelima asked while straining the rice in the kitchen sink. Pankhuri looked up from her phone surprised due to this sudden question.
She has been helping her mother to cook dinner for everyone all this time, but none questions were asked, but as soon as she took the phone in her hand the question was thrown at her.
She raised her eyebrows and looked at her mother in a questioning manner. Neelima sighed and spoke after she kept the big pot of cooked rice on the slab.
'Pankhuri... I am asking when is Mr. Singhal coming back' She looked at her daughter with hands on her hips.
Pankhuri rolled her eyes hearing the word 'Mr. Singhal'. How funny sometimes the orthodox thinking of her parents can be, like they can't take the name of their son in law, so instead of Chintan they are using Mr. Singhal to address him.
Pankhuri sighed, keeping the phone aside she spoke 'I don't know...I still haven't talked to Chintan abou...' Before she could complete she was discontinued by her mother shushing her.
'Shh...Pankhuri, don't call him by his name...he is your husband...'
Pankhuri looked at her mother in disbelief 'Wh... ' she stopped and shook her head knowing it will be worthless even to try. She groaned under her breath before speaking 'I don't know, I still haven't talked to HIM... about it' Pankhuri completed pressuring the word him.
'Beta, you should take care of his where being. Call him and talk to him once... '
Neelima went out to keep the food on the table, leaving Pankhuri.
Pankhuri picked her phone and tapping on the screen she dialed Chintan's number. She waited and waited and waited but there was no response, leaving a disappointed Pankhuri.
She scoffed and threw her phone back on the slab, she knew beforehand that Chintan won't receive her call, but even if he had received it, there was not even a single percent of chance that he will tell her where he is or when is he planning to comeback.
Once he left for the court in the morning but did not come back in the evening, she waited the whole night but he still didn't show up. She was so afraid but didn't have anything to contact him or anyone plus she was locked inside the house.
She waited for two whole days for him with no choice left with and suddenly he showed up the third day saying
'I was out with my friends for...I don't need to tell you everything'
Pankhuri was pulled out of her thoughts when her mother called out for her.
She walked out of the kitchen with her head down and joined her other family members for the dinner. After so long she felt that feeling of satisfaction through her heart while dining. Usually, she is left alone by Chintan to eat as he most of the time prefers to dine alone in the study.
After a few minutes Aryan too joined for the dinner but didn't even talk a bit, he was still angry.
Pankhuri felt bad seeing him, like that but didn't know how to make him forgive her, so she continued with her food. Soon they all completed their dinner and after spending some time together they all went to their respective rooms.
