Happy Reading
😊Binay sat in the living room as he scanned through today's newspaper and waited for Pankhuri. Neelima too waited for Pankhuri as she cooked in the kitchen.
They both had decided that they would talk to Pankhuri and try to make her understand and then only make any decisions accordingly. Then within a few minutes, they heard Pankhuri's door open and she walked out.
She came with a small bag in her hand as she picked up some stuff. Binay noticed it and came to her.
'Pankhuri...where are you packing for' Binay asked peeking in her bag.
'Papa...you forgot today is my law entrance exam...' Pankhuri reminded him of her exam for what she has been preparing for a long time.
Even though Both Neelima and Binay remembered about it earlier but because of all the chaos, they forgot. They both felt bad for not remembering it.
'Pankhuri...are you sure, you will be able to give this exam...' Neelima noticed Pankhuri's questioning face 'I mean you have been through a lot...so...' she stopped indicating the fact that the trauma she has been through might make it difficult for her to give her test at her best.
But Pankhuri denied it and packed up all the essentials for the exam. She sat on the dining chair and ate as Aryan too joined her. They both completed their breakfast and Binay got up to drop them off.
Aryan and Binay sat on the front as Pankhuri occupied the behind one. They started the 1.5-hour long journey as they had to reach a nearby city, which happened to be 1.5 hours away.
Aryan sat and revised carefully, whereas Pankhuri rested her head on the window as she looked outside of the fast-moving car.
Her mother spoke something, which felt somewhat true to her, she was strongly affected by that one night. How weird it is sometimes one moment can change everything in someone's life, how different her life used to be, and how different her life is now.
She just no more wanted to be around people or talk to anyone.
'How stupid I was, Bhai, Papa, and even Aryan...everyone warned me about him...but I never listened to them'
Pankhuri thought to herself and continued to look outside and hide the heart-wrenching pain.
After some time they reached the center and enter the exam hall. Aryan rocked the paper as he thought and Pankhuri...let it be.
Days passed by, as they waited for their result. Aryan no more spoke to Pankhuri as he used to because he knew she was now not very interested in talking.
The Mehra house turned into a silent disaster with minimal talk, and that too stopped after a few more days when Vedant had to return to the town and their grandmother too went with him, leaving the couple, Aryan, and Pankhuri alone.
Binay still worked under Tushar as it was the only source of income for their family.
Thanks to Tushar it was made easier for Binay to submit the reports and he no longer had to travel back and forth Delhi and the village every week, which was one of the concerns and the other was he did not want to see any Dewan faces.
And Binay was very thankful to Tushar for this, even if he did not want to.
