Pankhuri sat in her room, as she looked outside the window remembering all the things that happened today.

She knew she was wrong, she should have stopped him right then and there, but don't know why she didn't.

She sniffled and laid back on the couch near the window. The night felt more barren than before, the guilt probably was the reason.

She picked up the general knowledge book and started to read it so that she can divert her mind off all that. She again recalled how she felt with his touch.

The sensation of his big manly palm rubbing on her bare abdomen. She remembered it all. It made her want to cry. And also the fact that her brother might have seen it all.

He hasn't spoken to her since that moment, she took the offerings and came back downstairs to find her brother standing alone and without him, he was gone...

She just closed her book and buried her face in the pillows. Her heart pained, she felt as if somebody is stabbing her continuously.

(Knock-Knock)

She heard the knock and sat up straight. Vedant entered the room. He smiled at her as she too smiled back at him.

'Hey Pakhi' Vedant greeted as he entered the room with a folded paper bag in his hand.

She felt relieved hearing him call her Pakhi, which he would have never called her if he was angry or hurt. She smiled with more confidence.

He smiled and sat next to her on the couch. He took the book from her and looked at it.

'So, how're your studies going on?' asked Vedant as he gave the book back to her and leaned back against the couch.

'It's going great..bhai, what about you' Pankhuri replied and then asked.

'Good, very good' He smiled.

Vedant looked at her with a pressed lip smile, cleared his throat, and spoke 'Pankhuri see, not everyone is going to be with you all the time to protect you, or tell you what is right and what is not, it is always going to be your own mind which will tell you that'

Pankhuri knew what he was talking about, she just looked the other side to ignore the eye contact. She started to shake her legs, because of the embarrassment.

Vedant continued 'and whatever decision you make it will have its own consequences, just like every action has its own reaction...so make it wisely'. He too looked away realizing she felt awkward.

They have been really comfortable since childhood with each other. They shared all their secrets and topics with each other. But it was the first time when they both felt uncomfortable together.

'Sorry, Bhai...' Pankhuri spoke as she felt really bad and guilty for putting him in a situation where he has to feel uncomfortable with her.

For a few moments, no one spoke. To break the ice Vedant spoke 'look what I have got for you'.

He raised the brown paper bag and showed it to her. She smiled half-heartedly. Vedant opened the bag and took out a brown diary.

'Diary?' She asked raising an eyebrow.
