Philophobia: Mikaelson's Mate

Prologue

In three words, Lexi's life sucked. This statement was in no way an exaggeration. Her parents were never married when she was conceived. As a result Lexi's mother never told Lexi's father about her existence. Lexi's mother may be her mother biologically but in no way was she a motherly figure to Lexi. Her mother was an abusive alcoholic who blamed Lexi for ruining her life.

After 13 years of living with her mother, Lexi's biological mother died, leaving Lexi to the odds of the foster care system. Lexi stayed with numerous families during this time. However, Lexi was a practicing witch, therefore she did a locator spell on her biological father and tracked him down. Her father, who was also a witch, accepted Lexi into his life openly. He helped her gain control of her magic and tried to help the damage done by Lexi's mother.

After the best 4 years of Lexi's life, it all came crumbling down one night. Lexi had been hanging out with her friends and as reckless teenagers, there was alcohol present. By the end of the night Lexi was drunk to say the least so she got her dad to drive her home. On the drive Lexi's father was scolding Lexi for being so reckless and how she should make better choices but it resulted in an argument about him making reckless choices at the same age ended up with Lexi's existence. Whilst they were fighting, her dad got distracted, crashing the vehicle.
Although Lexi was unharmed,
Her dad died that night,
His final words being hateful and untrue.

Since Lexi was out of biological parents to take care of her and was not willingly to go back into the system, she then when to stay with the next best thing, her dad's best friend, Alaric Saltzman.
