"Good morning, Damon" Lexi stated as she continued to flip the golden pancakes in the kitchen of the Salvatore Residence. When Lexi raised her eyes from the pan she was greeted with a grumpy, but shirtless, Damon Salvatore.

"It's far too early in the morning for this Lex, I have things to do and people to see". Damon stated as he moved towards the pile of freshly cooked pancakes.

"And by people to see I would assume you are referring to the original vampire you decided to undagger yesterday." Lexi said, "and it's fine I'm not here for our usual... activities... I just needed to get away from Ric. He's still super worried about me after Jenna and all".

"Right fully so" said Damon, "she was your best friend and you've already lost so many people you love". Damon slowly moved around the kitchen island that was blocking them. He cupped her face in his hands and said, "promise me you'll tell me if something's wrong".

Lexi inhaled deeply shifting her gaze from Damon's eyes which were filled with concern, a rare occurrence for the vampire. "Yeah of course" Lexi nods at her words.

"Good" said Damon as he then reached for the pile of pancakes seizing one in his hands. Lexi, however, wasn't having it with a quick chant she scorched the pancake, burning Damon's hand and then slapped his hand with the egg flipper. Damon hissed in pain, cursing under his breath. Lexi however smirked at the vampire. She the proceeded to take a pancake from the pile and eat in in front of Damon.

Lexi and Damon's relationship was all too complicated, it was filled with teasing, jokes, deep late night conversations and sex... Only when Damon was heartbroken over Elena and Lexi wasn't bothered to hear anymore about it. But other than that they were best friends.

"Anyways" said Damon, "I got a freshly undaggered original vampire to see, probably best to not keep him waiting" Lexi hummed in agreement as Damon stole some pancakes and returned to his bedroom to get ready.

Lexi sighed slowly, her mind trying to suppress all the memories this childhood  favourite food of hers, was trying to bring to the surface. "Okay" Lexi muttered under her breath as she decided it was best to leave the pancakes for now as too many painful memories were crawling into her conscious mind.

Lexi then chewed on her lip as tried to come up with an idea that could distract her from these thoughts of she couldn't talk to Damon. She eventually decided to go and visit Elena. The girl always had problems to talk about and as the therapist friend Lexi was open to listen.

"So let me get this straight" Lexi huffed as she rubbed her palm across her forehead trying to process how she got caught up in original vampire drama, "every original vampire is currently undaggered and walking around Mystic Falls along with mommy Original, pretending to be one big happy family."

"Well except Mikael" Damon joked, "we already killed him so it's almost all the original vampires now and the original witch".

"Oh wow, that makes it so much better" Lexi deadpans.

"Look, it's really not that big of a deal" the bunny eater said, "just avoid the Mikaelson's, make sure they don't find out your a witch and then, when the time is right, you can help us kill Klaus."

"All things you already do" Damon chimes in smirking lightly.

"Fine" Lexi huffed, "whatever, just let me leave now".  After a long day of spending hours listening to the Scooby gang brainstorm possible ideas, Lexi wanted nothing more than to go home.

"Yep, you're free to leave" Damon smirked, "unles-"

"NOPE"

Lexi sighed as she got out of her car hoping her entire day hadn't been ruined  by the Scooby gang meeting in the morning.

As Lexi approached the front door to Ric's apartment her eyes landed on a white envelope resting on her door step.

Do people not send texts anymore? I know I'm surrounded by hundred year old vampires, but seriously.

Lexi then bent over and picked up the letter. Once Lexi was inside and finished examining the outside of the envelope she then opened it.

The letter inside read:

Please join the Mikaelson family this evening for dancing, cocktails, and celebration.

"What the fuck" Lexi muttered to herself. When Lexi turned over the letter to continue examining it she discovered a message written across the back:

I believe it's time we finally met, there seems to be a lot for us to discuss.
-Esther Mikaelson

Lexi furrowed her brows, once she pieced together who sent her the letter. Why would the original witch invite her to this weird ass family reunion?

Lexi pushed it to the back of her mind as she recalled the homework she had to do an unlike the rest of the Scooby gang she wasn't going to have a Salvatore compel her an extension.
