"There is something I need to tell you."
"What is it?" Klaus asked.
"Well it's not exactly what I need to tell you as much as what Lexi needs to tell you." Bonnie said, her eyes flickering back to meet her best friend's as Lexi nodded reassuringly. Each of the siblings grew distressed at the mention of their soulmate.
"Is she here right now?" Rebekah asked, her inner animal triggered by her inability to sense her mate's presence.
"Yeah" Bonnie muttered, looking back at Lexi. The Mikaelsons then searched the area that Bonnie was looking but could not find any signs of their mate. "As Lexi and I know, you can't see or hear her, so, we thought the next best thing was me acting as a translator." Bonnie said as Lexi moved up to hold her hand.
Each of the siblings tensed at her words, not knowing how to prepare themselves or their inner animals to say goodbye to their mate.
"Okay" Lexi said, "Let me start by saying I'm sorry."
"She says she is sorry." Bonnie translated.
"She doesn't need to apologize" Kol uttered, taking in a sharp breath to supress the tears beginning to form in his eyes.
"I'm not apologizing for what they think I am." Lexi said.
"She needs to apologize for something else." Bonne translated.
"When I left today, I knew that there was a chance that the anti-magic spell could become active but I didn't realise that it would effect me. If I had been more open about my past to quite literally any of you, you would have easily pieced together that it was magic keeping me alive. But, as a result of me being stubborn and closed off, I didn't tell any of you." Lexi said, trying to figure out her next words as Bonnie translated.
"Sorry for that. Anyways, moving on," Lexi rambled wiping the tears that began to well in her eyes with her free hand. "If there is a way back from where ever I end up, I need you all to believe that I can find it on my own or else I know you will happily murder the entire witch population trying to get me back. However, if there isn't actually a way for me to come back at all, I intend on heading straight to peace and according to my dad, that means saying goodbye to the ones I love most." Lexi said, holding Bonnie's hand tighter. "Despite the fact the can't see or hear me." She mumbled.
Bonnie then nodded at Lexi once she finished translating, encouraging her to continue despite the clear pain the Mikaelsons were in.
"The five of you have given me the best two years of my life and I love you all so fucking much." Lexi tried to say as her voice cracked. "I am so sorry but I will find a way back to you, however long it takes. But, for now, I love all of you and I'll see you later, in one universe or another." She said before wiping away the tears that had managed to escape in the final part of her speech.
"We love you too, Angel" Finn mumbled.
"Always and Forever" Rebekah said.
Once silence fell upon them again, Bonnie tugged on Lexi's hand, encouraging her to go back and find Damon who was currently saying goodbye to Elena. Lexi looked between Bonnie and the Mikaelsons before saying.
"I'm going to stay here for a minute." She said. Before Bonnie could argue with her Lexi said, "I'll be right behind you, I just need a moment." Bonnie reluctantly agreed before moving back into the woods to find Damon.
As Bonnie disappeared in the forest around them, the final strand of hope the Mikaelsons held, drained from their lives.

"This place it going down isn't it" Damon said to Bonnie as they watched the world around them begin to crumble. The pair was still waiting for either Lexi to show up or to be evaporated... whatever happens first.
"It is" Bonnie said. "I'm sure there a million people we would both rather be with right now, but" Bonnie said. Instead of finishing her sentence, she merely shot Damon a look which he quickly understood.
"Couple thousand at most" Damon joked as they intertwined their fingers.
"Do I happen to fit into that category?" Lexi said as she approached the pair.
"You made it" Bonnie said as she wrapped Lexi in a hug. After a moment, Lexi moved from Bonnie's arms to Damon's, accepting that this was most likely where it was going to end.
"You guys ready?" Lexi said as she moved from Damon's arms and took one of Damon's hands and one of Bonnie's into her own.
"Oh yeah" Damon said, his tone laced in sarcasm, "I've been preparing my whole life for the world around me to collapse whilst I'm sucked into oblivion."
"Fair enough" Lexi said.
"Do you think it will hurt?" Bonnie asked, tightening her grip on Lexi's hand.
"I don't kno-" Damon started but was cut off as they were consumed by intolerable light.
Here goes nothing.

"No" Kol whispered as the feeling of their mate passing drowned each of the siblings. "No" Kol snapped, slightly louder. None of his siblings had to strength to comfort him. Rebekah was the next to react, dropping to the ground and leaning against their car.
"Oh my god" Rebekah murmured as she felt a physical pain in her chest. "This can't be happening" She said as she reached her hand up in an attempt to apply pressure to the invisible wound.
Finn then dropped to his knees, his breath shortening into pants. A feeling of agony consumed him as the tears brewing in his eyes threatened to spill. Elijah stumbled back, catching himself on the car's bonnet. After over a thousand years of waiting for their mate, Alexandra Carter had left them almost as quickly as she came. The thought was agonising for Elijah as he too collapsed to the ground.
Klaus watched all of his siblings in their suffering as he tried to come to terms with the fact that she was gone. Something wasn't right though, they could still feel her, only more distantly. It was as though something was blocking their bond, perhaps that was just the how the bond felt after one of the mates passed.
Once Niklaus finally came to terms with the fact she was gone, the world around him shattered. After only a moment suffering in unendurable torment, Niklaus met the eyes of each of his siblings, sharing a look which they all understood quickly. They all then closed their eyes and their

The bright light quickly faded after a few moments, allowing Bonnie, Damon and Lexi to open their eyes and look at their surroundings.
"Well that was awfully underwhelming." Lexi deadpanned.
"Huh" Damon said as examined the world around him. "That got awkward fast" He said as he removed his hand from Lexi's. Lexi merely narrowed her eyes at him before sliding her hand from Bonnie's.
"What happened?" Bonnie asked, looking around at the world which looked exactly the same as it did a few moments ago. "Where is everybody?" She questioned.
"Better question-." Lexi said as she looked at the world around her. Damon, as if reading her mind, finished her sentence.
"Where the hell are we?"
