Stupid Parents

Lexi Pov

"Please guys, lets not make this harder than it needs to be" Ric said. He then hugged Jeremy who got up and left. Alaric then turned to Elena

"This is all my fault" Elena said, trying to hold back tears, "If you moved out and gave me your ring back, you didn't want any part in this."

"Don't do that okay" Alaric said, "taking care of you and Jeremy has been, it's been the closest I've ever come to the life I've always wanted" Elena then hugged him tightly. "you should go now" he said as they fell out of their hug.

Wow

That actually hurt

I tried to fight back the tears as I felt a stabbing pain in my chest. I have had 9 legal guardians, lived in 5 different homes and Ric practically saying that he loved Elena and Jeremy more was some how one of the most painful things I have experienced. 

"Hey" he whispered to me. 

"Hi" I mumbled at the same volume. I couldn't do this. I quickly stood up and wrapped my arms around his back, hiding my face in his chest as I held back tears. I never let people see they had gotten to me.

"It's going to be okay. Hey" Ric said, I could hear him trying to hide his tears with his words, "When I first offered to take you in after your dad, I had no idea what I was doing. You had already been through so much and I didn't want to screw it up, you know? I mean I had only met you once before and your dad had told me so much about you that I just had to hope that I could pull it together" Alaric said sniffling slightly.

"Which you did" I mumbled into his chest.

"Not really. He would be so proud of you" Ric said, "you know that right?" I groaned in response as we fell out of our hug.

"I love you, Ric" I said lowering my face.

"I love you too, Lexi" He said before kissing my forehead and walking into the cave.

One more legal guardian of mine who has died.

I decided to  go back to Ric's apartment before going back to the Mikaelson's residence. By the time I got back to the Mikaelson's residence. It was just Elijah sitting in the living room. 

"Hey" I whispered.

"Hey" he said before standing up and moving towards me. He then pulled he into a tight hug. He nuzzled his head into my neck, smelling me? I think I'm getting used to it. He then hummed into my neck, his warm breath brushing against my neck. "I was worried" he mumbled into my neck. I could hear the vulnerability in his voice. He was scared. Something I never thought I would see... or hear.

"Why were you worried?" I whispered as he detached from my neck.

"You went to the cemetery" He mumbled not meeting my eyes yet.

"But I'm okay, everything's okay" I said cupping his face in my hands. He then hummed as I pressed a kiss to his forehead. When our eyes finally met, I realised just how close together we were. My heart beat began to quicken which he obviously heard. His eyes flickered down to my lips. He then ran his tongue over his lips, attracting my eyes. Before I could comprehend what was happening, our lips were pressed together.

Our lips moved together passionately. One of my arms found itself around his neck, the other against his chest. He snaked one of his arms around my waist and the palm of his hand resting on his soul mark. With his other hand, that was cupping my face, he tilted my head up, granting him access to my mouth. After a moment we both pulled away.

"Rebekah is waiting for you in her room" he muttered breaking our eye contact. I nodded at his comment.

"Good night, Elijah" I said as I moved out of his hold.

"Good night, Elskan"

"Where are we going?" Lexi asked, turning to Finn who was in the drivers seat. He was driving them to a location he hadn't disclosed yet for their date.

"You'll see" Finn said before turning back to face the road. After a few minutes he pulled into a parking lot which was quite literally in the middle of no where.

"Where are we?" Lexi asked.

"So impatient" Finn teased getting out of the car and grabbing a basket from the backseat. "Come on" he said. The pair then procced to walk into the nearby woods.

"Are you going to murder me? Because these woods are looking very horror movie-y." Lexi said turning to Finn who hadn't said anything since they left the car. Finn's inner animal was slightly hurt at her assumptions but he understood that she was joking.

"We are almost there if it makes you feel any better" Finn said, slipping his hand into his mate's, weaving their fingers together. After a few moments, they came to a clearing in the woods near a lake. Finn then lightly pulled Lexi towards one of the larger trees.

"Are you taking me on a picnic?" Lexi asked as he put down the basket he had been carrying.

"Yes" Finn said shyly, "Is that okay?" Finn was clearly nervous about sharing his idea with her.

"Yes of course, it's perfect" Lexi said noticing Finn's nervous demeanour. Finn smiled in relief at his mate's reaction.

After the lovely picnic which Finn had packed, the pair walked around the woods and Finn told Lexi about what the land was like 1000 years ago. After they walked through the woods, they ended up near the grill.

"Come on" Lexi said, pulling on Finn's hand which she had been holding throughout their walk.

"Where are we going?" Finn said.

"To get ice-cream" Lexi said. She hadn't lived in Mystic Falls for very long but of course she knew where the best ice cream was.

"Who said we could get ice-cream?" Finn said. He stopped walking and pulled back on Lexi's arm. This caused her turn around and stumble into his chest. 

"I did" she said. Lexi then tilted her body up and pressed a light pec to his lips. Taking advantage of his shocked state because of her action, she pulled on his arm again making him stumble in her direction. When Finn recovered from his shock, he pulled back on her arm again,  making her turn and stumble into his chest again. He then cupped her face and pressed his lips to hers. 

Their lips moved together gracefully. Finn traced Lexi's bottom lip with his tongue. She parted her lips, granting his access to her mouth. Lexi arched her back into Finn making him tighten his grip on her waist. After a moment, Lexi pulled away from their kiss.

"So we can get ice-cream?" Lexi asked smiling widely. Finn chuckled lightly at her antics.

"Yes, we can get ice-cream" Finn said. Lexi then began pulling on his arm again when she was stopped by a voice.

"Finn?"
