Family Chats Are The Best

Lexi Pov

At some point in time last night, Damon and I fell asleep in his room. He lent me a shirt which I then used to replace my dress before we both fell asleep on his bed.

In the later hours of the morning I woke to a ringing sound which I eventually concluded was Damon's ringtone as he seemed to answer his phone and talk to someone. When I tried to open my eyes, the natural lighting only seemed to make my alcohol induced headache worse.

After procrastinating getting up, eventually Damon and I got up. He then fed me his blood and gave me a change of clothes which consisted of his shirt and some sweat pants I apparently left there a while ago. He told me I could leave my dress in his closet and that I could pick it up later.

As we were walking towards the front door because Ric had said that he had come over to pick me up, the doorbell rang. When we opened the door we were greeted with a very confused Elena Gilbert...

Oops

She on there other hand was greeted with a shirtless Damon Salvatore and an Alexandra Carter who was dressed in Damon Salvatore's clothes with my heels from last night in hand.

Avoiding an awkward conversation, I continued walking outside to be greeted with a very pissed off Ric.

Rebekah entered the living room of the Mikaelson Mansion and said to her eldest brother impatiently, "Come on, out with it then. What is the meaning of this 'family chat'?"

"It's about mother" Finn started, his eyes avoiding the gaze of his siblings.

"I think we have all come to that conclusion, Brother" Klaus said.

"Niklaus is correct. Mother's behaviour recently has been peculiar to say the least. I believe we all thought she may be the reason behind this gathering" Elijah summarised,  urging his older brother to continue speaking.

"Well yes" Finn stutters out not entirely sure how to phrase his words.

"Out with it Finn we don't have all day" Kol snapped.

"She doesn't want us to be a family again" Finn mumbled quietly.

"What do you mean, Finn? Of course she does. That was the whole reason we just had a ball" Rebekah retorted.

"That was just a cover" Finn continued without lifting his head.

"She wants to kill us all" Elijah concluded, connecting the dots of Elena's discussion with his mother, the burnt sage and Finn's words.

"What?" Klaus and Rebekah questioned in sync.

"Elijah is correct" Finn started, "The ball was a cover to link all of us together during the champagne toast"

Klaus then vamp sped to Finn and held him up against a wall by his throat.

"And you new all along, being mother's little pet." Klaus spat at Finn.

"I did know" Finn said, "but now I don't want to die anymore. I want to live with you all as a family."

Elijah then vamp sped to Klaus and Finn, removing Klaus' hand from their older brother.

"Brother he made a mistake and he is owning up to it. If we are able to stop mother I believe we should give him a second chance" Elijah said to Niklaus.

Klaus exhaled slowly before backing away. Finn then explained Esther's plan to his siblings. Kol is the first one to speak after his explanation.

"This is great and all brother, but one part of this story doesn't make sense. What changed your mind from going ahead with mother's plan?"

All of the other siblings had secretly been pondering the same question. When they turned to their eldest brother he had a smile gracing his face. He glanced down to the ground and back up to his siblings out of what appeared to be pride. "I met my mate." Finn said trying to hide the smile that formed on his face at the memory of Lexi.

"That's amazing"

"That's great"

"Wow"

His siblings all said in sync. Kol however, continued to ask the question they were yet again, all thinking. "Who is she?"

"Lexi Carter." Finn's heart swelled at the way his mate's name rolled off his tongue. In less than a second Kol had Finn pinned against the same wall with his fangs extended and dark veins under his eyes.

"You're wrong, she is my mate" Kol growled at his brother.

Rebekah then pushed Kol off of Finn and against the same wall before she hissed, "Lexi, is my mate."

Elijah who was standing nearby and was clearly confused by the current predicament said, "Brothers, sister, you are clearly all mistaken. Lexi is my mate not any of yours."

Klaus who was also standing nearby was laughing shamelessly, enjoying the show his siblings were putting on for him.

Elijah pressed two of his finger together over the bridge of his nose before asking, "Is something funny, Niklaus?"

"Sorry" Klaus said before then calming his laughter, "It would just appear that the four of you share a mate."

His siblings then glared at him before Kol pushed Rebekah off of him.

"Like the four of you" Klaus stated, "I also met my mate last night, but it would appear she is not this 'Lexi' girl you all speak of." When Klaus said the name it brought a warmth to his heart which he ignored and decided to continue taunting his siblings.

"Who would your mate be then, Brother?" Kol spat out of envy. At that moment it dawned on Klaus, his mate never got to share her name. Noticing Klaus' shocked expression. Kol stated, "Or do you not remember, being so caught up in your 'Original Hybrid' duties?"

Niklaus was clearly insulted by Kol's accusation so he vamp sped up to Kol. Standing chest to chest Klaus said, "One more word about my mate, and you will be back in your coffin with a dagger in your heart."

"Again with the dagger threats, brother. Don't you have any more tricks?" Kol teased.

"Children, please" Elijah said, "There are clearly more pressing issues at hand. One being our mother is trying kill us all."

Once the siblings formed a plan, Elijah went to see Elena, Rebekah to the caves, Finn to Esther and Klaus and Kol to the grill. They all agreed that none of them would speak about their mate until their mother was taken care of.
