Ten days till the fight at Musashi Shrine festival

With those three words, the entire atmosphere of the warehouse changed.

This is war.

Mikey slowly stood.

The playful expression he'd worn only moments ago had vanished completely. He gently moved me behind him before stepping forward, placing himself between me and Osanai.

I stayed where I was.

Not because I wanted to.

Because I knew Mikey.

He wouldn't want me interfering unless things became dangerous.

Still, my eyes never left him.

If Osanai so much as tried to seriously hurt Mikey, I would be there before he could take another breath.

Mikey stopped a few feet away from Osanai.

Both hands remained buried inside his cargo-pants pockets.

He didn't move.

Didn't flinch.

Didn't even blink.

He simply stared.

Coldly.

Osanai stood several inches taller, surrounded by his men, but Mikey didn't look intimidated in the slightest.

If anything, the faint smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth made him look even more dangerous.

Behind Osanai, the members of Moebius waited impatiently.

Some cracked their knuckles.

Others shifted their weight, clearly eager to jump into the fight.

A few carried weapons.

I noticed them immediately.

My stomach tightened.

This wasn't going to be some childish brawl.

These people had come prepared.

Across from the two leaders, Takemichi stood frozen.

His eyes were wide, his mouth hanging open as he stared between Mikey and Osanai.

Slowly, his expression hardened.

He clenched his jaw and narrowed his eyes at Osanai.

Mikey, however, remained completely unfazed.

"You brought this many people just to ambush a bunch of high schoolers?"

His voice was calm.

Almost too calm.
