July 29th, 2020 Four days till the fight at Musashi Shrine Festival.
Third POV:
Everything around him was dark.
Not the peaceful kind of darkness that came with closing your eyes, but the suffocating kind—the kind that seemed to crawl beneath the skin and settle inside the bones.
Cold seeped through the pavement beneath him.
Takemichi groaned.
Every part of his body felt heavy, as though he'd been dragged through miles of concrete before being abandoned where he lay. His head throbbed painfully, and for several seconds, he couldn't remember where he was.
He blinked.
Once.
Twice.
The world remained blurry.
Slowly, his vision adjusted.
A massive warehouse surrounded him, its walls disappearing into darkness. Rusted beams stretched overhead, disappearing into the shadows. Broken windows allowed thin streams of moonlight to spill across the floor, illuminating dust particles drifting lazily through the stale air.
Takemichi swallowed.
Where the hell am I?
He pushed himself upright.
Or tried to.
Something yanked him backward.
His eyes widened.
Rope.
His wrists were bound tightly against the arms of a broken wooden chair.
Panic immediately surged through him.
"W-What the hell?!"
He pulled against the restraints.
Nothing.
Again.
Harder.
Still nothing.
"Someone?!"
His voice echoed through the empty warehouse.
No answer.
Takemichi's breathing became quicker.
He struggled harder, desperately trying to loosen the ropes. The chair beneath him creaked ominously.
