Two days before Toman's big meeting
Third POV:
Autumn was slowly coming to an end.
Winter was waiting just around the corner.
You could feel it in the air.
The once-comfortable breeze had turned sharp and icy, slipping beneath coats and sending shivers down the spine. The trees that had once been covered in brilliant shades of red, orange, and gold were now almost completely bare, their branches reaching toward the dull sky like skeletal fingers.
Everything seemed quieter.
Colder.
Bleaker.
To Y/n, the world looked absolutely miserable.
She had always hated this time of year.
Everything was cold.
Everything was damp.
And everything seemed colorless.
Y/n pulled her jacket tighter around her petite frame as she stepped outside with the rest of her classmates. Most of the students had already begun making their way home, while others remained behind for after-school activities.
She paused at the entrance.
Her eyes lifted toward the sky.
Grey clouds stretched endlessly overhead, blocking out whatever sunlight remained.
I wish the sun would come out.
She missed summer.
More than she wanted to admit.
Summer had been warm.
Bright.
Alive.
And, most importantly, nothing had gone wrong.
Back then, everything had felt perfect.
Almost too perfect.
Like nothing in the world could possibly reach through that happiness and tear it apart.
But Y/n had learned a long time ago that good things never lasted forever.
The moment Kisaki joined Toman after making Mikey an empty promise that he could get Pah out of juvenile detention, everything had started falling apart.
One decision became another.
One mistake became another.
And now they were all preparing for yet another mandatory meeting that Mikey had called.
