Everything Has Changed

Chapter Forty Nine

No one has spoken a word. I got up and went to my bedroom and shut everyone out. Dallas has tried coming in here but I push him away and make him leave me alone. I look out of the window and see Dallas is starting on the grill. It'll all be over soon.

"Daddy!" I hear Luna's voice yell, as she comes into the house.

"Princess!" Dallas says running into the house.

I stand by my bedroom door and just listen downstairs. I hear the pitter patter of Nikolai's feet walking into the house.

"Daddy where's mommy?" He asks sounding sad.

I walk out of my room and down the stairs.

"Here I am!" I smile at him and pick him up.

He giggles and wraps his arms around me. I look at Luna and smile at her and she smiles at me.

"How about we get in the pool while daddy starts cooking?" I say looking at my kids.

Luna smiles and nods. "Yeah yeah!" She says.

I smile and all three of us walk upstairs and into their room. I pick out their swimwear and get them changed. I had them go downstairs while I got changed. I changed into a bikini and put some shorts over my bottoms and wore some flip flops. I walked downstairs and everyone was outside except Dallas.

He looked at me and I looked at him.

"I'm starting with burgers now. Everyone's in the pool except your parents and Maggie and Harold." He says.

I nod and walk to the fridge and grab a soda. Dallas comes behind me and grabs me, he sits his head on my collar bone and takes in a deep breath. I know what he's going to say, so I stop him. He knows me too well.

"Dallas I've made up my mind." I say.

"You can't do that Liv. You have a family, we are getting married and things are finally going great. You can't give up like this. You're always going to have problems, you just can't give up." He says. "We have to get through them together."

I slam my hands down on the counter. "Stop it Dallas. I can flip this thing off and walk out of here right now dammit. Stop pushing me!" I yell.

"And do what? Be on the run for the rest of eternity. We have children Olivia. How do you think they are going to act when their mommy won't come home and won't stay in contact with them? You need to stop this right now Liv and just get over it! I am here for a reason talk to me!" He says.

"What I have to say is said. We are done everything is done. Don't you see, I just can't live the rest of my life faking happiness and facing depression all the time. I'm going to have to get over this and this is the only way I know how. I'm tired of feeling the pain and the hurt." I say a tear falling down my face. "I just need it gone. Just for a little while. I wanna be free."

He tries to wipe my tear but I push him away. "I can't take this either. I'm so sick of fucking crying it seems like that is all I do anymore." I growl. "It's sickening that I've lived my life doing nothing but crying."

The slide door opens and in walks my parents and my kids. Nikolai has a tear down his face and he looks at me.

"What's wrong Niky?" I ask.

"You're leaving mommy." He says.

I look at him confused. I bend down next to him and grab his hands. "What do you mean baby? Mommy isn't going anywhere." I say.

"Yes you are. You're leaving tonight and you won't come back. You are even giving daddy back the pretty ring he got you." He says playing with my engagement ring.

I look at him and more tears roll down his face. He looks at me and I look at him.

"Buddy why do you say that?" Dallas asks him.

"Because I saw it. Mommy is going to say goodbye to me and sissy and when we leave she's going to give you her ring and then walk away. Mommy why are you going to leave?" Nik asks looking at me.

"Nick that's not going to happen. You were just imagining it." Dallas says.

"No he is right. He saw it." I say looking at Nik.

"Liv."

"No mom. He actually saw me leaving. He saw what was going to happen. He has my gift." I say.

"Please don't leave mommy." He says starting to cry more.

"Can you show me what you saw?" I ask grabbing his hands.

"I don't know how." He says.

"Just close your eyes baby." I say.

He puts his little hands in mine and closes his eyes. I close mine and I can see what he is seeing.

It's the end of the night and my parents are about to leave with the kids. I hug my kids, kiss them and tell them goodbye and I love them. I hug my parents and they leave. After everyone is gone I look at Dallas.

I slide my engagement ring off of my finger, set it on the counter, and flip the switch. I look at Dallas one last time with a smirk on my face, and walk out of the house.

I let go of Nikolai's hands and open my eyes. I look at him and he looks at me.

"Please don't leave mommy." He says.

"I'm right here baby." I say.

He smiles and wipes his face. I look at him and then at Luna. I walk over to her with Nik right next to me and hold onto both of them. I smile at them and kiss both of them. "Mommy loves you both." I say.

They both say I love you and then walk back outside. My parents and Dallas look at me. I grab my soda and walk outside. Nik is still standing outside of the pool and walks next to me.

"Let's get in the pool." I say smiling at him.
