Ross could not take his eyes off Demelza, Joshua knew then they had a marriage that would last an eternity. He thought of how he and Grace started, how hard he worked but never got ahead. That changed when Ross went to the war. He open Wheal Leisure, he worked it right alongside with the miners. Some of Gentile folk scoffed at him, but it paid off. Then a friend asked him to embark in the ship building industries. Then the smelting works, all the time staying in the shadows he had no doubt his brother, Warleggan's and the Chynoweth's would have done everything they could to stop him from gaining that wealth. Well now his boy and his wife would start a life together and be happy. If the young fool did not miss it up. Ross was known to be a hothead, irrational at times and moody son of a bitch. He looked over at his brother who was looking at him sulking. He wanted money; he always came around as soon as he found out he had some savings. The last time he sent Francis to travel Europe, he told him he needed money to renovate Agatha's rooms, so he gave it to him. Francis got to travel while Ross stayed home, envied his cousin and got into trouble. That is what led him in the war. He would not make the same mistake again. Charles always thought Joshua should live without because he was a second son. Ross was his heir and hopefully he would have a few grandchildren soon. Also, now he had Graces nephews to look after he was not giving his money to Francis and Elizabeth to squander. Poor Verity never given anything other than work, Francis left to do whatever he wanted. Well, if Francis wanted to gamble it away Charles could find it elsewhere.

Before long, the ceremony was over Joshua announced they were having a get together of the couple's friends only. This is a genuinely delightful day for the Poldark's of Nampara and we intend to celebrate. When Charles, Francis, Elizabeth, and Ruth came out, Joshua whispered in his ear, "please inform your son, his wife, and her friend if they plan to cause trouble or making snide remarks not to bother to attend. It is so happy of a day to have it ruined by the likes of you and them."  Charles glared and said, "if that is the way you feel," Joshua said, "it is the way I feel." Aunt Agatha was behind Charles, she told Joshua, "I do wish you would get along? You know Charles is in dire need of money?" Joshua said, "if he is in such need can you not help him, I know you have money put back for Francis's children? Ross and Demelza only have mine and I will no longer give money to family members that is ungrateful. If you would like to celebrate the wedding with my family, you are more than welcome, but do not try to guilt me into helping Charles, it will not work. I have finally made Grace and my wish come true to have as much as the first son. Now my first son will have enough for his first son." Aunt Agatha said, "I am sorry Joshua; I forget how much Charles has put you through over the years of course you are right! If you can give me a ride to Nampara I would love to go."

Charles told Francis and Elizabeth then Ruth what Joshua had said. Elizabeth replied, "he cannot be serious to not have us invited to the celebration, we are family? Francis said, "we are the poor relatives now, they don't need us to build up their social status."  Elizabeth thought I need to go to the reception just to gain Ross's attention. Ruth said, "Well I for one am going he will have to escort me off his land if it comes to that and I am sure people will deal with him harshly for treating me so shabbily."  Francis and Charles looked at each other, both thinking if it were not for them or Elizabeth, Ruth would have no social standing. Elizabeth said, "Ruth is right we have as much right as any to be there. More so than those brats from Demelza's side. Riding on Joshua's good name to move up above their station. Charles nodded but said, the first time I hear of any rude or ungrateful words we are all leaving, including you Ruth, understood?" They all agreed so it was off to Nampara.

Francis kept looking at Anne through out the evening, he thought she was pretty, not the raving beauty of Elizabeth but pretty! Anne and Elizabeth, both noticed him looking at her, Elizabeth thought this could work in my advantage, if Francis takes up with Demelza's young friend then I can cry on Ross's shoulder, and he will have to have words with Demelza for introducing such a person to his cousin. What she did not know was that Anne was from Mellon and always had been, so she was not someone Demelza introduced. Although she was quite fond of her.

Demelza was holding Jenny's baby, when Ruth said, "are you planning on popping one out after another like most miner brats."  Jenny glared at her and said, "she is Mistress of Nampara, what are you Mistress of?' Ruth said, "why you impudent little gutter slag, how dare you speak to me like that." Ross said, "she dares because it is true. Jenny here, makes more money than you, they live in this house and are providing for a family quite nicely. From what I remember your family does not have money and you live off your family's name, or Elizabeth's good graces. Now if you want to cause issues, we will have you escorted off the estate." Charles came took Ruth's hand and whispered what did I tell you girl. I cannot afford to affront them. Ross yelled "oh Ruth I would be the happiest man alive to have a child with Demelza!" Demelza blushed. Joshua stood and said, I would like my son and his bride to have the first dance together. They performed the Baroque Dance, they made a beautiful couple, Elizabeth was green with envy, that should be her dancing with Ross she thought. Elizabeth tried several times to get Ross to dance with her, as did Ruth. Ross had no eyes or intentions of leaving his wife's side and dance exclusively with her as she him except for one dance where Demelza, her brothers and Ross danced together laughing at each other's follies just being happy with each other's company.

It was quite late when Demelza had to excuse herself after being awake early and not sleeping she was exhausted. The party had moved outside by the bonfires. Elizabeth thought this would be her chance, but Ross side stepped her and went with Demelza offering her his assistance. Elizabeth felt like she could cry, she knew that Demelza and Ross was about to consummate their marriage. She would have to step up her plan. She'd let them have tonight though in the long run she would win, she always won where men were concerned.

There was scuffle at the barn and Joshua with Zackey and Henshaw went to see what was going on Francis and Jim Carter was in the mist of fighting, Anne was holding he sleeve up. Dwight went to Anne, Joshua roared,"what is the meaning of this." Jim said, "excuse me sir but this gentleman," (he said, with contempt), "was trying to assault my sister. She was going to the kitchen when I saw him put his hand over her mouth and pulled her toward the barn." Charles hearing the commotion said "come come boy, my son is a gentleman and does not need to take trollop a by force." Joshua said, "there is nothing disreputable about Anne, Francis on the other hand has been spoiled into believing he is above reproach. Anne, do you wish to press charges." Charles and Francis bulked at the idea, Elizabeth yelled, "it will be a scandal of the Poldark name." Anne shook her head because she did not want to hurt the Poldark's that was so kind to her. Joshua said, "fine but Charles Francis will be purchasing a new dress for Anne and an apology for his incomprehensible behavior." Francis said, "I am sorry I did not mean to frighten you I just wanted to talk to you." "Mary spoke up you will not speak to my daughter again, she took Annes hand and led her inside."

Ross helped Demelza out of her dress, he said, "did I tell you how beautiful you looked tonight," she said "I do not think you had time. It has been a whirlwind of dancing laughing, talking, and being glared at by your Elizabeth and Ruth." Ross said, "they are not mine. I have only one woman in my heart and that is you, my love." He turned her face toward him gently, then kissed her, when she started to respond, he ran his tongue along the seam of her mouth. She opened her mouth, and their tongues did the dance of lovers. Ross then continued to undress her. Demelza went to remove her jewelry when Ross stopped her, "leave it on." Ross carried her to the bed, he quickly removed his clothes. He worshipped her body. Then they consummated the marriage. They had sex that night four more times. Demelza's was about to fall asleep when she heard Ross say, "I love you, Demelza. I did not know love until I met you, you have made me incredibly happy, and I hope you can love me too someday. Demelza touched his cheek, I have loved you since the first time I saw you. Ross promises me you meant your vows never commit adultery. I do not think I could live with it. With you here I have no need. Now let us go to sleep, we have guest that need to be entertained tomorrow.
