"What do you mean, vampires don't sleep?" I asked.
My lord, these vampires could do anything.
"We just don't need it. It's no longer important to us. Now, come on, you need food and I need to answer all of your questions." He said with a smirk.
We went down the grand stair case and to the open walls of the mansion. In the kitchen, he helped me into a chair and then went to the fridge.
"What do you want?" He asked
I shrugged and he grabbed a loft of bread. Before he came over he grabbed a carton of something, shook it up and then drank the whole thing.
"What was that?" I asked him.
"Blood. It's donated." He said when he saw my face.
I hope my face of disgust didn't bother him. I decided that I wanted to know everything I could about him.
"Tell me about you." I said.
He smiled and sat next to me. "What do you wish to know my dear?"
I decided I would start with an easy one.
"What's your favorite color?" I asked.
"Dark blue, the color of your cast."
"How many vampires live here?" I asked. What if they wouldn't let me leave?
"There is Javis and Beth my parents. Then there is Amanda and James. They are married but also my brother and sisters if you will. Then there is me."
They were all together, all but Daniel. That also meant that there was five vampires in the house and I was a human with blood in my vains. I allowed my fear to go down while I chewed.
"How many vampires are there in the world?"
"I don't know. There are more in the north than the south. Vampires don't normally stay in one place."
I nodded before moving on. "Does the sun burn you?"
"No, that's a myth."
There was one last question that I needed to know the answer too before anything else happened.
"Do you have a girlfriend?"
He smiled and grabbed my hand.
"No, I've never had one either."
I was in total shock. I couldn't even stop the words that were already coming out of my mouth.
"Why?"
I began to blush immediately.
"I've never met someone who I've wanted to spend the rest if my life with. That is, until I met you." He said.
I blushed. He did like me then! My heart soared. He knew things about me yet, he still wanted to be with me. I didn't know what to say, so I said nothing. However, I did look at him. He bent down and kissed me hesitantly, maybe to give me time to make sure I wanted it or maybe to test himself that he wouldn't kill me. He pulled away quickly and kissed my forehead.
"Your so important to me Emily. I promise you that I will not hurt you. Not like your family and that boy. Will you be my mate?" He said.
Mate? What did he mean mate? Could he mean it like how animals do in the wild? I looked at him in complete shock. How could this Greek god want to be with someone like me? He was so beautiful, so perfect and I was plain. I had no hold on him, so what had he seen in me to want to be my mate? I knew he was waiting for an answer but, what would I say? Did I like him, yes more than anything. He was perfect and treated me well. On the other hand, I had just met him. Would this count as being to soon? And how well did I really know him? Would he be nice now and mean later? My heart rate quickened as panic began to set in. What was I going to do? The world began to spin and I felt sick.
"Honey, calm down." Daniel said.
But it didn't matter. I got up, ran to the bathroom and began having a panic attack. I was dry heaving, trying not to get sick. Daniel came in and wrapped his arms around me.
"I'm sorry." I muttered.
"You have nothing to be sorry for. I'm sorry, I shouldn't have pushed you like that."
I looked up at his gorgeous silver eyes. "I like you but I'm just not ready to be your mate. Do you think you could wait for me?"
"Emily, I want you to know, I don't mine being with you. No matter however you want to be with me."
"Why are you so nice to me?" I asked
