Finding and Changing Emily

Chapter 21: Daniel

She passed out very quickly. I continued to feed my blood into her. I didn't want her to be in any pain. Her poor heart was hammering out of her chest. Javis knocked on the door and came in. He had his medical bag with him. He handed me a towel and then he moved to Emily's arm and began to remove her cast. While he worked we began talking.
"Son, I'm proud of you."
I was stunned. I had just taken her mortal life and he was pleased.
"How can you say that?"
"Son, you didn't kill her. You did what was best and you did it yourself. That is why I'm proud."
I was angry but I didn't let it show.
Amanda came in and handed me a bag.
"I can change her if you want?"
"No, she is in what she wants to wear."
Amanda sighed. "Daniel, she loves you. You don't know it but she does. She looks at you like your the center of her world. When she came home, she was crying. Not because of what happened but because of the fact that she was scared she had almost lost you. Don't worry."
I nodded and allowed the tears to flow freely. Emily was changing and was almost done. Javis removed the cast and began to move her arm. He didn't want it to be stiff forever so it was important to move it while she was changing. Changing a human into a vampire doesn't take that long. It takes only about an hour depending on how much blood is giving and taken. The more that is gave the shorter amount of time is needed for the change to happen. Her eyes began to flutter. Amanda and Javis left. I sat on the bed and held her hand.
Her eyes opened and she looked around the room. She looked at me and was startled.
"Why are you crying?" She whispered.
"I'm happy your okay. Emily I'm so sorry that I had to change you. I...." She stopped me and kissed my lips. I kissed her back, allowing myself to melt into her then stopped.
"Emily,"
"No. I don't want to hear it. Anything that happened when I was a human was part of my human life. Since I am no longer human I want nothing more to do with that. I have a new life and I'm going to enjoy this one."
I smiled. I wanted to kiss her again but remembered that she must be hurting right now. She was going to need blood.
"Are you thirsty?" I asked her.
"I don't think I'll like blood." She said.
I laughed. Sometimes vampires thought that they wouldn't want blood when they were reborn. I kind of figured she would act like this.
"Humor me." I said.
I handed her a cup of blood. She took it and carefully put it to her lips. She swallowed a small amount before gulping the whole thing down. I smiled.
"I thought you didn't want blood?" I joked.
She smiled and handed me the cup.
"Can I have more?" She asked blushing.
"No, you have to wait. You don't want to over do blood."
She nodded and looked around the room.
"Is it always like this?" She asked.
"No, you'll get use to it." I told her.
She laid down on the bed and patted the spot next to her.
I sat down and she laid with her head on my chest.
"So how different is life going to be?"
"Well, you won't need sleep, go to the bathroom, or food."
She smiled seductively, "what will I do with all my free time?"
As a vampire, our sexual needs were stronger. We needed sex more than humans because we didn't do other things that make humans have a lower sex drive.
"I don't know." I told her.
I didn't want her to feel pressured by my sex drive. Yes, I wanted her like I had never wanted someone before but, I wasn't going to have her be pressured. Amanda knocked on the door and ran inside.
"Emily! your so beautiful!" She said.
Emily blushed and Amanda began talking about how it was going to be fun to take her hunting.
"Daniel I'm going to go with Amanda. We need some girl time."
I smiled, kissed Emily goodby and watched them leave.
