I went to google, pressed the white bar and started typing.

You are not that scared child anymore, you are grown up now. You can do it.
I repeated myself mentally as I wrote each letter on the device.

OS

My hands started shaking as my breath started to increase.
He did you wrong....you can do it.
I kept repeating to myself over and over again but my state just worsened.

E-

I can't do it.
I can't ...not yet.

I closed and threw my laptop as far away from me as possible and wrapped my arms around my knees putting my head between them.

I'm such a coward.
I thought, shutting my eyes closed as a humorless laugh escaped my lips.

After a few minutes in that position I heard someone knock on my door surprising me.
Raising my head from between my legs I headed for the door with a frown on my face wondering who it might be.

As soon as I opened it I found myself in front of my best friend.
Axel.

"Hey peach"
He said patting my head a little just before entering my room.
"Hey"
I said noticing the way he looked around.
"What are you doing here?"
"My shift ended earlier so I thought I'd come and see how my best friend and colleague is doing"

He said grinning before coming towards me and pinching my cheeks.
"I'm doing fine" I said moving his hands from my face.
He stared at me for a while before speaking again.
"I know you're not. Is it because of the new job?"
I shook my head not really feeling like talking right now so I started walking towards my bed and sit on it crossing my legs; he did the same thing and sit with a leg crossed, supporting his chin with the other one.

After a few minutes of silence he decide to break it.
"How did you find your first day of work?"
"I don't know. It was ok...?"
He looked at me with the: "I don't believe shit you saying"
Kind of look.
Sighing I told him everything from how Mr.Asshole treated me like shit in the car this morning to when he practically yelled me to fuck off earlier.

"wow, shit"
He told me with a surprise look.
"What about you, how is it working for the brother who I'm pretty sure is the normal one?"
I said making him chuckle softly.
"I won't say it's not hard being the bodyguard of those brothers but Mr. Damiano is actually a kind person. He didn't give me reason to think otherwise and..."

While telling me all this he was playing with his fingers just like a kid with a smile on his face.
When I cleared my throat he then looked in my direction and on his cheeks there was the same blush he had when talking about Mason.
"I-I mean yeah, that was a good first day"
He said scratching the back of his neck while clearing his throat.

We talked a little longer until we heard someone knock on the door gaining our attention.

"Ms. Williams dinner is ready"

The same maid of this morning informed me from behind the door.
"Alright , I'm coming. Thanks"
I replied.

Axel and I then headed for the dining room, still talking here and there until we got there.
Unlike this morning though all eyes were not on me making me release a sigh of relief.
Once I took my place on the left side
of the table dedicated to the staff I started looking around, noticing that there are many new faces.

Many new male faces.

"Hi, I'm Josh. And you are..."

One of the guys in front of me said surprising me a little earning my attention.
He had brown hair, chocolate eyes, freckles all over his face and a pair of black glasses that gave him a nerdy look.
"I'm Kyla"
I said looking straight into his brown eyes and noticing the way he shifted his gaze from mine, fixing his glasses while blushing.

"Beautiful name"
He said before reaching his hand out for me to shake it; I looked at it for a while before imitating his gesture.
"How do you find the job and staying here by far?"
He asked breaking the silence that fell between us.

I thought about it for a few seconds before giving him an answer.
Although a false one.
"It's good. I like it here"
I said trying to convince myself more than him.

Dinner went on quite well I must say.
I talked to Josh a lot and found out interesting things about him.
He is a really nice guy despite the fact that he's terribly shy.
Axel instead, spent the whole evening exchanging "furtive" glances with Mr. Damiano Morello and strangely, the other brother wasn't there for dinner tonight which was weird but I didn't really mind it at all.

After dinner I went straight to my room, changed in my night attire, brushed my teeth and now I am already under the bed sheets ready to let myself be lulled by sleep, hoping tomorrow will be a better day.
