My eyes kept moving between Nicolai and the man from the mall still not being able to absorb everything, that guy beside being a dickhead also had a strange aura but I never would've imagined such a thing.

"Oh by the way happy birthday Nicolai how rude of me to almost forget to wish happy birthday to the birthday boy."
Alekzandr said with a smile before stepping off the stage and walking slowly towards us, I automatically lowered my head slightly trying not to be recognized.

"I have a present for you my friend"
He reached into his pocket pulling out a gold bullet engraved with a phrase before inserting it into the gun and aiming it at Nicolai's temple causing my head to snap towards them with my heart pounding painfully in my chest.

"Fuck you Alekzandr we both know you need me alive"
Nicolai said with a calm expression despite the obvious threat that Alekzandr was addressing him and with a smile he signaled with a hand to one of his men to bring something or rather someone, in fact immediately after the last person who I expected to see arrived, Anthony Hale Chloe's.

"This gentleman my dear Nicolai gave me all the information I needed so matter of fact I don't need any of you anymore"
He finally said before pressing the gun at Nicolai's head harder making my heart rumble painfully in my chest.

"Anthony you bastard"
I heard Damiano yell before they punched him on the stomach making him double over in pain, at this Axel tried to get out of their hold but one of the guards hit him on the side of the face with a gun breaking his lower lip and my heart broke even more seeing that the same man who hit him was now holding a gun to his head with a finger on the trigger.

Meanwhile behind me I felt my guard move and in that instant with a quick movement I managed to take the pocketknife and hid it by clenching my fists, seconds later another guard came and when I shifted my gaze on that person my head did a double turn unable to believe my eyes.

That same guard was Mason, the Mason with whom I shared almost four years of my life, the same Mason who told me just before how good it was to see me again, the Mason I thought was my friend.

That Mason was looking at me with a cold expression that almost expressed hatred but that soon shifted in front of him; he was one of Alekzandr's man.

"Let's get this over with what you sa-"
Alekzandr said before stopping when his eyes met mine causing me to close my eyes and move my head to the opposite side hoping he didn't recognize me but unfortunately I was wrong, in fact I heard his footsteps approaching until he stopped right before me.

"Well well the evening couldn't go better"
I heard him chuckling before feeling his nasty hand grab my face aggressively and turn it until I was face to face with him.

"Don't touch her"
Nicolai gritted from beside us causing Alekzandr to increase the strength with which he was holding my chin making me groan a bit and not acknowledging Nicolai's presence he continued to speak.

"What is it you don't talk anymore? The first time we met you had so much to say, eto ne verno (isn't it)?"
He said with a smile that didn't reach his eyes.
"Fuck off"
I replied jerking my chin away from his grip and before I knew it my face turned and a sharp pain made my jaw clench, the metallic taste of blood spreading through my mouth.

"You should control that little mouth or sooner or later someone will have to teach you"
He brought a hand to my lip touching the wound with a finger making me hiss before glaring at him hard.
"You should do the same before you get a bullet between your eyes"
I barked back smiling at him with bloody teeth only to feel something cold on my forehead for the second time that evening.

Fucking grate.

I thought rolling my eyes tilting my head to the side with a bored expression.
"Just try and touch her once again and consider yourself a dead man in the blink of an eye"
Nicolai yelled catching the attention of Alekzandr who after a pause chuckled throwing his head back.

"Oh but I won't kill her, at least for now, first i want to have fun with this little vixen"
He said tracing my face with the tip of the gun till he ended up bringing it between my breasts pressing lightly before nodding his head to Mason who immediately after did something totally unexpected, he untied my wrists; immediately I rubbed them with a confused expression wondering why he released me.

"Take off that expression, don't believe for a second that I've given you the chance to escape I'm just letting you say goodbye to your little friends one last time"
"What the fuck is that supposed to mean?"
I asked through my teeth glaring at him.

"You will come with me and you will do it without little games because with a single command your friends will end up with a hole in the forehead before you know it"
At those words I felt so many guns around me cocking and positioning themselves against everyone's heads, I looked around feeling my heart fall to the ground; in that instant my eyes met Axel's which were filling up with tears and I couldn't help but look at him with a faint smile making him understand that it was okay but he shook his head mounting "please" over and over again forcing me to look away.

"So what do you want to do my little vixen? Will you let your friends die or will you come with me?"

Alekzandr whispered in my ear now behind me causing shivers of disgust to run over my skin.
"I'll come"
I said without hesitation staring somewhere in front of me to avoid looking at a pair of gray eyes that I felt sending daggers to the side of my head but I couldn't help it I wasn't going to let anything happen to him, nor to Axel and the others.

For the first time since my father had abandoned me, I felt that I had people around me who cared about me and I was willing to sacrifice myself if that meant keeping them safe; without even thinking about it my feet took me to him and once I stood in front of him I looked up and my heart definitely broke.

"Don't do it"
He whispered to me with his eyes about to let free all the tears, I brought a hand to the nape of his neck bringing our foreheads together while with the other hand trying not to let Alekzandr and the guards see me I put inside his pocket my knife and the ring.

"I fell in love with you and it's the best thing that could have happened to me"
I whispered to him before reluctantly pulling our foreheads apart getting up on my toes to place a kiss on his forehead feeling some sobs vibrate his chest.

As I pulled away from him I looked into his eyes one last time fighting back the tears that threatened to fall before being dragged away by a guard who pinned both my hands behind my back, pointed a gun to my head making me turn abruptly and started carrying me towards the elevator.

Once we arrived at the underground parking I heard a series of shots from above our heads and the only thing I could hope was that none of the people I had grown fond of was hurt; once a black SUV arrived at full speed they tried to let me in but I fought back trying to escape their grip but when I felt a pain in my head my body became weak and then everything went black.
