"Victor wake up"
I whispered to him when I heard the car getting to a stop.
"We have arrived?"
He asked with his voice still thick with sleep making me smile slightly before moving a strand of blond curls from his face.

"Yes, but I need you to keep quiet baby, yes?"
I said and he nodded letting me know he understood; I'm not sure but I think the journey took at least an hour; after the car stopped many others joined it and when they all got out I heard the disguised voice of Alekzandr giving orders to all his men before hearing footsteps departing.

Just when I was about to move, however, someone opened the trunk, it was one of Alekzandr's men who, after staring at me and then Viktor for a few seconds with a surprised expression, took out his gun and started talking to someone else through the earpiece but I was faster and immediately shot him straight in the chest then another one in the stomach cringing at the loud noise seeing him fall to the ground soon after.

Without wasting time I got out of the trunk checking that no one else was there and I turned to the car where I saw Viktor covering his ears and shaking slightly.
"Come here"
I reached out before picking him up in my arms, he put his face into the crook of my neck.

"I don't like loud noises"
I felt sorry for Viktor but I had to or the both of us would've been dead.
"I'm sorry baby"
I said starting to look around more carefully noticing we were in the
parking lot from hours before before, I didn't understand why they came to that place again but despite all my questions I had to look for Nicolai so without wasting any more time I started looking for an alternative way to the lift which I was sure would be guarded by many guards just like the stairs.

After about ten minutes I still hadn't found an unguarded passage and I was about to give up when I remembered that inside
from the hall there was a balcony that pointed directly to the hall, I just had to figure out how to get there; with Viktor still in my arms I ran to the east wing of the parking lot where I hoped to find the stairs to go up to the balcony but once there I had to hide behind the wall as the perimeter was guarded by two guards.

"Viktor I need you to stay here for now, I have to take care of a small thing and then I'll come back to get you"
I told him putting it down.
"Do you promise me?"
He held out his little pinky to me and without thinking twice I grabbed it.

"Of course"
I replied then stood up and took one last glance at the boy before taking a deep breath checking how many bullets I still had as i began shooting at the two.
As soon as they recognized my presence they started shooting as well so I ran to take cover behind the first column I found, shifting their attention away from where Viktor was; several bullets grazed me but fortunately they didn't create too serious wounds, instead I was able to kill one of the two.

Well there's only one left

I thought pulling my head back behind the column but when I was about to shoot again a searing pain made me stagger back as I grunted painfully, looking down I saw the bastard had thrown a blade into my thigh, with my free hand I pulled out the blade causing blood to gush from the leg which I patched up immediately pressing my hand on it.

"I got you"
I heard before I looked up and saw he was pointing his gun at me but I was quicker shooting him straight in the head seeing how his body stilled before falling to the ground with a thud.

I leaned against the first wall I found as I was no longer able to stand as my vision was blurring a bit, after closing my eyes for a few moments I tore a piece of my shirt, which was now dirty with blood, with my teeth tying the rag around the wound to stop the blood; limping, I went to pick up Viktor, finding him sitting on the ground with his knees against his chest and hands covering his ears, so trying not to scare him, I reached down and took his hands, moving them.

"I'm back"
I told him with a soft smile trying to hide my pained expression and before I could register it he threw himself into my arms, stroking his hair I said comforting words to him feeling my heart squeeze.

A four-year-old shouldn't have to deal with this kind of things I thought placing a kiss on his head before getting up from the floor.

"We have to go quickly before they find us"
I said and soon after we headed in the direction of the stairs.
"Viktor, cover your eyes for me?"
I asked before we got to where the dead bodies were so he wouldn't see such a thing at his young age, he immediately did as I told him.

Once we got to the stairs he took his hands away from his eyes and we walked towards the balcony before entering it however there was a door and I was sure someone was inside because I heard the sound of a gun reloading.

At this height and with a view of the whole room it could only be a sniper but I couldn't just open the door and shoot him otherwise everyone in the room would have seen and heard me so signaling to Viktor not to move we hid behind the door and I placed the silencer on my gun, I knocked and a second later someone opened it giving me the opportunity to catch him off guard by shooting him twice in the chest.

When I turned around I sighed slightly because luckily Viktor had his hands over his eyes and didn't see the scene.

"Come on let's go"
Once on the balcony the first person I saw was Axel then my eyes moved from Damiano and some Morello men who had their weapons aimed at Alekzandr's men until they stopped at two figures in the center of the room.

Nicolai was talking quite animatedly with Alekzandr who had his back towards me, I only realized later that Nicolai's men were far fewer in number, it was impossible for them to come out alive from that place but I couldn't allow it so letting go of Viktor's hand I took to the sniper position before instructing the boy to hide in the corner of the balcony so they wouldn't see him.

Once everything was ready I aimed the finder to the head of one of the guards before pulling the trigger and seeing how his body fell to the floor, without wasting no time I shot down two more causing a panic to start in the hall; everyone was trying to figure out where I was shooting from but when Alekzandr suddenly turned meeting my gaze I almost laughed at his expression.

Seconds later my eyes met Nicolai's who was totally incredulous but I didn't have time to look at him more than a couple of seconds before lots of bullets started flying my way so I had to leave everything and head down the stairs with Viktor before they arrived .

We didn't even have time to go down all the stairs that several voices started to approach us so we hid behind the first door we could find.

"I'm scared Kyla I want to leave"
Viktor told me while squeezing the end of my shirt in his hands.
"I know baby but we can't go just yet"
I told him as we started walking until we found an emergency exit with stairs that we started climbing as fast as possible.

"Viktor go ahead without me I'm behind you"
I said putting a hand on my leg which started bleeding again and it was hurting too much, he looked at me with a sad look.

"Please"
I pleaded and looking back one last time he continued, soon after I heard the yelling of the guards who were getting closer and closer so I pulled out my gun checking it was loaded before I started shooting at anyone I could see limping at the same time up the stairs.

When I finally got at the end of the stairs I was about to grab the handle when an arm grabbed my waist throwing me down the stairs knocking me out momentarily but when I recovered I realized I was being dragged by two guards.

I didn't even have the strength to hold my head up by myself, my body ached and I felt all my bones broken; they took me to the room where the gala was taking place a few hours earlier but unlike before, the room was full of bodies on the ground, blood and broken glass.
When I struggled up my head I saw the faces of all my friends looking at me as if they had just seen a ghost.

I didn't have time to retouch my makeup sorry

Around me there were several guards with guns aimed at them not making it possible for any of them to do anything, they made me stop suddenly once I got in front of Alekzandr and Nicolai but before I could say anything Viktor's voice stopped making me turn around seeing a guard dragging him by the arm.

"Now we're all"
I heard Alekzandr say causing me to turn glaring daggers at him.
