VII

As I closed the door behind me I leaned my head against it and let out a long breath.

Throughout my time in the captain's office
the only thing I was aware of was a pair of grey eyes wandering all over my body.
I hated being stared but for some reason the way he looked at me got me all hot and bothered.

I had to restrain myself from looking in his direction and take a glimpse of his figure.
But even without looking I already knew he was handsome as few.

Putting those thoughts aside I started walking towards the male dorms in search of Axel. While walking I saw everyone heading to the gym where the event would be held.

Once out of the male dorms Axel was already there talking with Mason so I went towards them.
"Hey guys"
I said gaining their attention.
"Hi peach"
Axel said smiling at me just like Mason.

"I'm so nervous guys like I'm shitting myself right now"
Axel said as we walked towards the gym.
"I'm nervous too, if nobody chooses me I'll have to be here alone without you"
Mason said with a pout making Axel laugh.

"I bet we'll all be chosen, you guys are really good at fighting so no need to worry too much"
I said looking at both of them.
"You're just too nice K"
Axel said pinching my cheeks making me yelp in pain and like the two assholes they are they both started laughing their ass off at my pained expression.

"Y'all are assholes" I said while rubbing my aching cheeks.
We then heard a clearing throat sound that made us look up just to meet the hard glare of our Captain.

We immediately lined up and made our military salute, I then noticed that with Captain Allen there were also the Morello brothers.
I didn't miss the low growl that left Nicolai's mouth as soon as he saw me.

"Rest Soldiers"
And we did that simultaneously.

"What are you doing still here Soldiers, aren't you supposed to be in the gym right now?"
Our Captain told us but I was more focused on the way Nicolai, was looking at me, but unlike before this time his gaze held something that I could not fully understand.

Maybe anger?

"Yes, Sir. We were just doing that Sir."
I said. He nodded then dismissed us.
As I was about to walk away my eyes met those of Mr Nicolai's and I could swear I saw a smirk on that handsome face of his. I frowned looking away from his gaze.

Now we were in the gym, the fights were already started and the place filled with people yelling and cheering.

I could feel the anxiety growing more and more inside of me.
And the fact that those pair of grey eyes didn't left me one second doesn't help my state really.

"Now will be fighting Axel Ramirez against Andrew Gallagher".
Vice Captain Anderson said into the mic.

I snapped my head toward my friend who I think was about to have a panic attack.
So I tried to say comforting words to him.
"Ax you can do this okay?"
I told him, he nodded hesitating.
"Okay?!"
I asked this time a little louder.
"Yes" he told me with a smile.
He then thanked me before going away.

As he stepped into the ring I started cheering him gaining weird looks from someone but I just shrugged them off and kept cheering my friend.

The fight went on for fifteen good minutes and ended with Axel winning.
When he stepped off the ring he almost came running to me.

As soon as he came near me Vice Captain Anderson announced the next two that were supposed to fight.
"Kyla Williams and Carson Harris it's your turn"
"Oh shit"
I said, my eyes widening. I have to fight Carson the most sexist person in this place. He never missed a chance to remind me how as a woman I'm supposed to stay at home washing the dishes and doing the chores.

The real problem here is not me beating his ass but that he's as huge as a wardrobe.
I looked at Alex who was giving me a small smile of encouragement but I could see the worry on his face.

I got up from my seat and walked over to the ring, all eyes were on me and I could hear people's comments saying that I would lose without doubt.

Y'all are really nice thanks.

I thought rolling my eyes internally.
I was now facing Carson, he had a cocky smirk on that ugly face of his.
The fucker even had the guts to wink at me making me scrunch my nose up in disgust glaring hard at him.

"Are you ready?"
Mr Anderson asked. We both nodded and soon after the bell that indicated the beginning of the match rang.

We stared at each other like two predators while everyone around us cheered us and yelled like this was the most exciting thing ever.

I had to win this fight, it's my last chance to get out of here.
And with that last thought that encouraged me I jumped on my prey.
