3: Discovering Place

After Cale left, Alex was still in the area. She finaly put down the flowers she made.
"I know, I know.... Jing, why the fuck did you sacked that lame human? I couldn't understand your taste of man now.... Hayyss... You know his life will be hectic and he will suffer, that child of yours deserves more, a sweet child like him will destroy himself in the future, you know. A lovely child like him.... " she's frustrated and sad, her predictions are almost all accurate and she has to intervene personally to lessen Cale's suffering.

And a minute of silence...

"You know I hate adults like those people, we already suffered from those shits, and I hate it, that it'll be his fate like ours"

"I might gave you that power but even without it I still can predict the futures"

She took a deep breath and continued
"I don't blame you Jing, I know you did your best, and I dont know if you were tricked by someone... And I know you really love Cale.... And I'm proud of you, did you predicted this will happen no? Cuz the day we broke up and did some arrangements I knew you foresaw this when you asked me for a favor, I might be the second laziest shit from the Slothful god, but I'll be a great guardian for him.... I got you Jing, relax there will you, you're the most worried here, trust me I'll do a great job, but dont you nag at me for hating your husband..... And release your curse you did on me I haven't slept for almost a month now... "

She said and a strong gentle wind covered her. She felt a cold sensation on her forehead and cheek

She shivered from the cold and goosebumps.

"Heh! Still got crush on me huh? Hahahaha" she teased

And she ran towards the abandoned house she found and slept there for days.

After a week of the Countess' burial, the manor has still gloomy atmosphere everything is on black curtains, not much noise is heard. The count's still weeping and wailing from time to time and Cale needs to support his father, he invites the Count to eat (he got rejected everytime, he just reminds him to eat properly), to remind his father to clean himself, to rest, stop the alcohol. The vassals are getting irriated of Count Henituse's breakdown so they pushed Cale to do some of the Count's works.

(Hey 8 years old boy doing paperworks of adults?! TF?!)

Since he was getting lessons at age of 3, so he was able to do some of the work, he classified the paperwork if he can and can't do, then he will work while his father is still wailing loud in his room and he will finish the remaining work. They barely meet each other, Cale still needs to attend his class, but since he's intelligent he surpassed the teachers, he mops them by asking heavy and difficult questions then if the teachers couldn't answer, he will answer his questions intelligently and shattering his teachers' pride

This continued for two weeks, and then the teachers gave up teaching Cale since he surpassed them, and they asked for mental therapy donations because of their shattered pride.

Cale wanted to learn more but no one could teach him except martial arts and sword man ship, but since he got his mother's trait, he is like a noddle, it's almost useless to train him.

The Count never knew what happened to Cale and anything to the County since he's still wailing and drinking, aimlessly doing nothing even in his office, staring at Jour's portrait everyday locked up himself to his room.

The paperworks piled up, and they have no choice but to have Cale more work

But Cale now could work more efficiently since he got help.

Flashback..

It was 3 days after he encountered Alex, still in front of his mother's grave, holding a bunch of unknown but familiar flowers to Cale.

"Good day Cale" she greeted giving Cale a beautiful long petal red flower, attaching it to his ears

'Cute'

Embarrassed, Cale greeted back with a small bow.

"Good day to you too" and he also paid respect to his mother, bowed like a gentleman to the grave

"So... Like what I suggested lets have some tea, we met now" Alex said while shaking his small shoulder.

"Yes, yes, but where? I know you dont want to be in our house..." Cale gave in
"Somewhere safe to chat at"

And they headed to a small hut near a waterfall, it was a hut Alex built after discovering the place and it became one of her options to sleep at, while staying in the county.

"Woah! It's beautiful! I didn't know this place here, there's nothing like this in the county map.... How did you got here?" he asked, excited to explore the place

He's amazed to their unknown place of their territory a tall waterfall and many wild plants and amazingly arranged rocks

"I got here yesterday after waking up, who would know there is an amazingly beautiful place here to be unknown, so while Im at it I built a hut to stay at" she answered amused at Cale's cute excitement

'Well, who would explore a dark forest of an abandoned village near the city in the county?'

And they walked around and they gathered several leaves to make a tea

"Isn't the dried leaves made teas?" Cale asked
"Of course"
"Then how will we make it? Those arent dried yet"
"Wanna learn the trick?" she's poking Cale's excitement and curiosity that made Cale nod aggressively that made her giggle

And then she started to draw lines and circles and then put some leaves in it and it glowed then the leaves became dried

"Woah! How did you do that?!" Cale bursted his excitement and curiosity, amazed of what Alex did, then curious if he could also do it. "Are you a magician?" but he kept himself, 'what if magic is needed? I dont have magic, but I also want to learn and do it'

"Look, it's a magic detector," she showed a bracelet and did the trick again but it didn't glowed as its use, "That wasn't magic" she answered

"Oh! Really?!" he's happy and hopeful
"Yes, and it's called alchemy" she confirmed
"I want to learn! I want to learn!" he chanted in excite and happy like a normal child of his age

Alex's plan is working, and she's not satisfied of something like a just companion for a child, she already resolved that she will raise Cale as her own child, not to just lessen his misery but make him genuinely happy.

'Don't worry Jing, I will make him happy'

And then she taught Cale some basic alchemy and its history while eating what they made with alchemy, Cale hopes he will learn it all and make it his own

Then it was almost night time when the scenery changed. Some plants and insects and rocks glowed, that made Cale more amazed and happy.

"I never heard any place like this" he gasped

Then he saw Alex's smug face

"In my house everthing glowed even at day time" she brags

"Really?! Then... Can I visit there?" he asked

"You're welcome there, it's also your place you know... Hey Cale, wanna be my child? I'll treat you better than this" she asked

Cale got stunned, he was already been told by his mother someone will become his guardian before she died, but he cant believe someone like a diety will be his guardian.

"Really? You mean it?"

"Yes I am, a lovely child like you isn't fit to be alone"

He blushed of what she said

"But... My father... He doesn't know anything about you"
"Hmmmm, of course he doesnt, no other human race than you knows my existence except to those who I agreed to know me"

"Im not rushing you, you know" she smiled, her body started to glow like the first time they met.

Cale felt relieved as he heard it.

"By the way, what are you?" he asked
