16: Meet Basen

After a week when Cale loudly declared his acceptance to the new family members, the Cornella family are once again doubting Deruth's capability to have a decent family.

"This is what I was angry for" Danny mumbled as he heard the news from an old servant.

"Honey, what could we do? Cale got it and now the second child too? Cant you do something to your cousin?" Jane asked 

"Big brother is still out, he and Deruth are much more closer than we are, maybe he could beat some senses into him, I'll write a letter to him"

Danny wrote letters to his big brother, everytime some big events happened in the family, he always reports to him because his influence is wider than his in the whole kingdom, specially if it requires martial supports.

As the parents discuss it, their children heard it too. They felt bad for the new family so they have to do something, Cale requested them to support Basen as he is leaving soon to travel, they heard the truths behind the trashy acts, and now they couldnt hear any trash act news anymore that made their heart stable from stress.

Every gathering the eldest siblings flock around Basen and teach him who to befriend and who to avoid and teach him how to hold a conversation and apply what he learned from Cale.

The siblings enjoy Basen's company as they treat him their youngest sibling. They saw Basen adorable and smart.

In a seasonal gathering where the heirs of each family are invited. Violan and Lily couldnt make it since Lily got sick.

The eldest siblings guard Basen as they find Cale and his group.

"Basen, look at the bridge, your hyung is waving at you" Daniel said as he point where is Cale at.

Basen looks at the bridge and saw a group of children with Cale.

They walked faster as they pass by the marquis Stan group.

"Never bother look at them, just think of them as nonsense but the eldest son, Taylor Stan." they whispered to Basen.

"Yes, hyung also told me that they are.... Umm..." he couldnt finish it, because it ends with word "Shit"

The siblings laughed at their young brother's foul words and Basen's purity, they couldnt guess where he got it except to their brave younger sister antics.

"You got it right, just being near them takes you to trouble" and they walked faster.

And they found Cale.

"How's the road Basen? Did anything happened?" Cale asks, he still couldn't let his guard down around Basen's servants. Cale opened his arms for a hug

"Nothing happened hyung" Basen said as he complied to the hug Cale offered

"We got him Cale, nothing to worry about" Daniel answered patting Cale's head.

"Thank you Daniel hyung and Danielle noona" Cale smiled at them

Cale lets out a sigh of relief. Cale came first to the Ubarr territory because the Countess Ubarr called for him to make a visit and he stayed for a few days to wait for the seasonal gathering to accompany Basen in the party.

Since Deruth is still busy, the Cornella siblings lend hands to take Basen with them.

"Ahem" a fake cough ended the sweet reunion. "Who do we have here?"
