It's been a month since the late Countess Henituse was buried, but the mansion and some of the servants are still in their mourning uniform specially the servants who are close to the family.
It broke their hearts when they saw the young master left the dungeon with a sad, lonely and betrayed face, though the new servants that the vassals brought are saying it was the head butler's fault, for letting the young master see what's inside the dungeon.
Speaking of coming in the dungeon, it was stated that only the current head of the family is allowed, the special guards and special head servants are the ones who will judge the approval with the critics, of course. Meaning, Cale already won and overpowered Deruth,(Deruth have not came in the dungeon even once, even when his mother died his Uncle didn't approved him coming in the dungeon and then he forgot and didn't even think that they have those places), by what the special guards and special headservants judged, the one who crowned the special servants are the past and current Count and the Shadow Counts. Shadow Count is the head of the shadow force of the County, they regulate whatever is happening inside the County , sometimes when their forces are great they could create their own network and faction, such as the underworld, they are crowned informally because there is no critics to be a Shadow Count as long as the Shadow Count approved of you and the special force follows the Shadow Count. Shadow Count is the one who protects and rules the county behind the scenes.
Getting back to Deruth, who suddenly left his room and stopped his cry, stood in front of his office. He came in and saw his desk free from paperworks, and saw his only son sleeping deeply on his chair, his hair getting longer to his shoulders and his chubby cheeks shrunk.
His heart ache as he glance at his son looking like his mother and none of his at all. He felt a bit betrayed but his facial expression is kind of similar to his.
He walked to him, his heart beating stronger and faster. He noticed dark lines under his eyes and the stains of inks in his clothes. Suddenly remembering his past self when his mother died and he was worked to the bone while grieving, but with his uncle and his cousins helping him run the county. Then what about Cale? He was also grieving, but... No one is there by his side.
He felt a big pang in his heart, he felt guilty and ashamed. He realized his mistake, he couldn't look to him. His child doesn't deserve this, he knew what it felt, losing someone, but he haven't been alone, his child is alone, and he is alive. A pretty ironic scene, a child and alone while his father is just there, and the child got his father's back, instead of other way round.
Then Cale woke up, surprised hopeful and happy. His father in front of him, but not looking at him. He felt bad, for making his father remember his mother. So Cale got up and came out on his own, saying "Good morning father, excuse me, I have to take a bath now". While standing up, he hoped that his father would talk to him, and when he walked away he wished his father to stop and interrupt him so they could talk, even if it was only a greeting or replying anything to him.
But the cowardness, shame and guilt of Deruth took him over, he didn't say anything, not even looking at him, ignored him, like his child is just an air passing around.
'I can't believe it!' Cale's eyes burst out his tears, running to his room.
He was rude, turning his back to his father when he haven't received his reply. But he felt disappointment, betryal, anger, pain and sadness. Hope shattered his heart again, like it did when he hoped his mother to come back safe.
Reaching his room, he dove down straight to his bed then started crying.
Ron and beacrox could hear him, gritting their teeth while hearing the cries of their young master. But what could they do? They are only servants in this house, nothing more, and they have to stay hidden from those who pursue them to be killed. The old servants who saw and heard the young master prayed to end his painful days and live happily like before. And just like Ron and Beacrox, they are only servants, nothing more.
