10: Will Never Be Back

After Deruth left, Cale was left behind alone with the responsibility of being a Count. As usual he'll take over and do the work again.

While reigning, Cale made a lot of progress for the county, such as expanding the territory and fortifying the walls and defenses of the County, opening many opportunities for the citizens to have more occupations and health awareness and different medical academics and scholarships to aspiring doctors and nurses, and mostly the agricultural sector which is being demanded by the other territories , he lets them study in the county but with exchange of students who'll study to other territories to learn with hospitality, Cale did it under the shadow Count status, because Alex believes the things they worked hard for will wash away when the Count will take over and the vassals will assume they did it, Cale did what Alex asked him to do since most of their project were Alex's ideas and Alex played a huge part in all of it.

While Deruth is away and when Alex sometimes went to her house for a few days, Cale stayed in the Cornella manor before Alex sets off. Alex felt more comfortable with Cale being with the Cornella household than in the counts' main house, since he's alone with dangerous people. She still couldn't afford to trust the father son duo because they are hiding and their cover might blow up and leave Cale alone.

The family of Cornella with 8 members, Danny 31 (the head of the family, the father), Jane 29 (the vice head and mother), Adel 15 (Danny's 1st child with his ex wife), Ada 14 (Danny's 2nd child with his ex wife), Jady 12 (Jane's 1st child), Janna 11 (Jane's 2nd child), Daniel 9 (Danny and Jane's 1st child), Danielle 9 (Danny and Jade's 2nd child).

They accepted Cale with whole heart and treated him with respect, love and care. The children are older but Cale could blend with them even with academics topics, they played and have fun, doing some picnics and fooling around being children, mischievous and petty.

They sometimes bond with sleeping together in a room, their legendary pajama party, the family actually always broke the noble rules but who'll know? There are only 3 servants around in the household and hired by Alex herself, they dont need many servants after Alex ordered them to fire them all for speaking ill to the family, and the house is being maintained by the runed cleaner golems (Cale' s successful attempts of making runed golems, Cale does his studies under Alex in their secret hideout every night when they dont have pajama party, to function properly the next day he drinks a potion from Alex to be energised for the day)

The cousins are fond of each other and they promise to bring out the best and protect each.

Cale enjoyed the present and he almost forget that he has a grieving father far from home and his grieving. To be truth to himself his grieve reduced greatly when Alex came to his life.

Deruth stayed in their summer villa to "recover" himself for 7 months, leaving all work to Cale as he was convinced his works being done by the vassals.

One afternoon after a messenger pigeon arrived with a letter, stating Deruth recovered well and will be back in a week, Cale started to prepare everything to welcome his father and give the work to him again.

"Really? It hasn't even been a year! What is he?!" Danny slammed the table, he couldn't believe what the news says

"Dear, what happened?" Jane asked

"The bastard already moved on without having Cale known" he dropped the tittle because the Cale they talk about here is a motherless and fatherless grieving child

"What should we do? Cale will be sad, specially if he gets what you mean"

"I dont know what reaction he will give, dear, but we'll be with him no matter what"
