When Anya heard the yelling behind her coming nearer and nearer she crouched down in a pit praying to the spirits of her ancestors not to be discovered. The heavy steps of the Skaikru guards stopped right in front of her hideout. She counted two people and overheard their conversation. "We've lost the grounder!" said one and the other replied, "Why are they so fast? Let's continue searching. Maybe we find his tracks." Than the fist shouted, "Hey, Mason, come!" A new pair of footsteps neared Anya's hideout and then all three of them left to where Anya knew the wood would just grow thicker.
Anya could just roll her eyes at their incompetence. If it would have been one of her soldiers, they would clean the stables for weeks, if not worse.
When Anya could be sure that the three Skaikru were gone she bandaged her wound with moss and a strip of her clothes to not leave a trace or attract predators and continued her walk to TonDC to get help from the healer Nyko.
At sunrise she entered the village. Some people already were awake, but most people would awake in the next hour or so. Anya made her way to Nyko's hut when she saw a crowd gathering around her whispering to each other. She just continued her way when one out of the crowd stepped forward and approached her. She scowled at him, "Sha?" (Yes?)
He looked away from her saying, "Osir vout yu ste doun in! Osir vout de faya kom Skaikru frag yu op in! Ha ste yu kiken?" (We thought you were dead! We thought the fire of Skaikru killed you. How are you alive?)
Anya turned to the crowed raising her voice, "Ha ai ste kiken nou ste meija. Jos teik in ai ste kiken. Oso gada in noseim sich: Ste Heda in Polis nau?" (How I'm alive doesn't matter. Just accept I am. We have other problems: Is Heda still in Polis?
The one that approached Anya earlier answered, "Osir vout in sha, worheda. (We think, yes, general.)"
"Kei, ste Nyko hir? Ai gaf hit em op in." (Okay, is Nyko here? I need to see him.)
"Sha, ai lid yu in em" (Yes, I'll bring you to him.)
And with that the crowd formed a way for the man and Anya to pass through to the healer's hut.
When Anya entered, she refused the man to come with her, she saw Nyko mixing various tinctures and salves and other stuff he needed.
"I see your work never ends, even when you have no patients," Anya said in gonasleng (English/Language of the warriors), because she new Nyko could understand it and it prevented the crowd from listening in (and it was convenient for the author).
The healer almost dropped the bowl he was mixing his medicine in and turned around. With shock apparent in his voice he asked, "General? How? Never mind, I know how strong you are. How can I help you?" And with that he let his eyes go over Anya's body. While he tended to her bullet wound, the wound where her tracker was and some scrapes, Anya told him everything that happened. She trusted him enough to hold that information and pass it on if needed. She finally asked, when she would be ready to travel to Polis to get Klark an audience with her former second, the commander. Nyko looked her over, "In a few days I'd like to check on your wounds again and then you're probably good to go." Anya nodded her thanks and left the hut. Buy now some of her soldiers that didn't die in the fight against Skaikru or left to Polis to tell Heda about the loss of their general had taken guard in front of Nyko's hut. Anya sight internally. Only three remained. They silently followed Anya to her tent that fortunately was still standing. Anya briefed them on the situation and sent to of the warriors to Polis to tell Heda about her own survival and the pleading of Klark kom Skaikru. The third gona (warrior), Alura, would remain with Anya until she was cleared for travel again.
"Alura," Anya started, "I will tell you now what happened to me. You must not tell anybody about anything I will say now, but I need to make sure, this information reach the Heda, no matter what." Alura nods, indicating that she is listening. "After Skaikru burned Tristan and his raiders, the Maunon attacked them and captured everyone that was there. So me as well. I don't know what happened to the Skaikru goufas (children), but I was brought to the place they keep whom of ours they capture. We were all in cages stacked almost to the ceiling. They must have thousands of our people. It is far more than I ever imagined." Anya pauses for a moment to collect herself while Alura feels the anger rising in her. "They hang our people from the ceiling and drain them for their blood," Anya's voice almost breaks when she continues, "and the dead bodies are thrown out like garbage. One day Klark kom Skaikru found me and with her help I could escape. She knew a lot about the Maunon and their tek. She could prove to be a strong ally. Skaikru could help us bring down the mountain. Klark will talk to her people and hopefully we can form an alliance. That is important! We are stronger ogeda (together) and now we have a common enemy! But we have to be weary of Skaikru. I trust Klark kom Skaikru with my life, but the people in the camp act like scared branwadas (fools/idiots). They are not our lukots (friends). Not yet." Anya pauses for a moment, lost in thoughts. "That would be all for now, thank you." Alura nods her head, "Sha (Yes)." and leaves the tent. After Alura is gone, Anya moves to her bed and lays down, immediately drifting to sleep.

PS: Since I couldn't find a word for general I created "worheda" (=war leader) for it.
