Betrayed
After more or less a week after healing, you instantly returned to work. You tried not to overwork, not wanting to end up ill at home again, and lately nightmares weren't really afflicting you, which was a great progress.
Gaster also seemed more open with you: at this point you could even call yourselves "friends", and you didn't find the necessity to put salt into his coffee ever again. He smiled more, laughed more, especially with you. Sometimes you also thought that you found him more pleasant to be with, and you always felt at ease with him...
The Core project was going all along: just a few more things to stabilise, and it could be built: something that you really appreciated about it was that Gaster actually didn't mind giving some credit to you too, after all, the Core was the main thing you should have worked on from the beginning.
His other research was also going smoothly: he managed to obtain some results, by observing you and himself. He mostly got data about blushing, or faster heartbeats: he couldn't really obtain anything else, as he couldn't kiss you and, well, it would have been awkward and weird if you actually acted like two lovey-dovies, but he still used Asgore's suggestions. You two mostly went on dates, or he accompanied you to the park, or to arcades, and you managed to obtain some cheerful memories with him. And as he promised, he paid you, and you could continue with your own research, which was luckily and unexpectedly showing some good results: the test objects you were sending forward in time were now appearing. Probably you were less stressed, hence you managed to reason better, obtaining good results, and all you had to do now was to start some tests to send objects back in time. At this point, you were near to...
Four months had now passed since Gaster took care of you with your cold, and you woke up, feeling the sunlight on your face in your bedroom.
You stretched a little, took your phone and opened your social media: you scrolled a bit through it and noticed that you had a message request from...someone working at the High Palace, whose name was supposedly Jayden?
You looked at his profile, and apart from knowing from his bio that he was a Secretary at the High Palace, you saw some of his photos: slim, tall, full of muscles, and apart from his looks, he looked rich enough to own a villa.
You then opened your dms again, finding his message.
"Hi there gorgeous"
You cringed a bit at the "hi there gorgeous", but still answered: a bit coldly, you didn't trust him nor know him after all, but still, you didn't want to sound too much rude.
"Hello there" you just texted. It was your way to make a death glare by phone. You then noticed that he read the message immediately, as if he had been waiting for your answer forever.
"I heard you're the one in charge of the lab near Mount Ebbott, is it not?" he then asked.
You quickly replied, getting kinda entertained by the conversation: you wanted to know where it would get at.
"Yeah, I am. Need something from the lab?"
"Oh no actually, I just wanted to know who was the leader there: here at my workplace everyone talks about you, and I got curious"
Now this caught your curiosity: you kept talking with Jayden until you noticed that if you spent another minute at home you would have been late for work, and you didn't want to make Gaster wait for you. You quickly greeted Jayden, telling him that you needed to be somewhere else, but that you would have texted him later.
After some running, you luckily reached Gaster's lab in time, entered the elevator and fell to the ground as you quickly gained back your breath.
"Huh, what took you so long?"
