King of the Underground
Asgore was sitting down in front of Gaster, who had a visible sorrow and grief plastered on his face, with his eyes looking down with a lost look, as he held tightly the two containers and the note firmly, as if his life depended on them.
The goat man, with many wounds around his body that were quickly healing with magic, didn't dare to say a word: what could he say to Gaster after all? He left him to save himself, and he returned with two containers?
"Would you stop looking at me? ...please" Gaster said, feeling the weight of his gaze on him, trying to hold in the tears.
"Sorry..." Asgore replied now looking down "it's just that...I don't understand what's in those two containers. What are they? Cells?"
Gaster remained silent, as grief visibly increased on his face.
"You wouldn't get it" he simply said.
And he went back into his own thoughts, recalling everything that happened after Asgore protected him.
Flashback:
Gaster fell on his knees when he saw that the time machine was destroyed, the only intact things being a table with two containers and a note on it.
Silent tears fell down his cheeks.
You indeed had shattered across time and space, and that's why no one remembered you.
No one, except him.
Trembling, he tried to stand up and walked towards the table near the broken time machine, threatening every time to fall down and let the paralysing liquid do its effect.
There was indeed a note for him, which said with big letters "For my only love"
Gaster threatened each moment passing by to cry, but somehow he didn't want his heart to break in that moment.
He opened the note, and he immediately recognised your writing as his hands shivered.
"Dear Gaster,
If you are reading this, it means that I'm dead. Probably lost in time and space, who knows.
I'm sorry. Sorry for everything. I wanted to go back in time to prevent Jayden from entering the lab, but if you're reading this, well, it means I've failed. Haha, I have to act now as if my hands aren't trembling from fear, you'll probably think that I was calm as I wrote this. I was not.
I have left you alone. And the only thought of it is enough to make me cry. I will miss everything about you, your joyous laughs, the way you focus when you work, your hugs...I will miss everything.
But I don't want you to be alone, especially in hard times. I have left two containers on the table. You might wonder what are they.
They are our sons. I hope you won't get angry if I chose two boys, I have always wanted two sons. I took a hair of mine and part of your DNA from your arm to make them, so you'll probably wake up with your arm itching...please, once times get better after the war, I want you to be a father figure for them. It is my only wish.
