Mother Anomaly
Six years later...
"Dad, dad, wake up!"
Two boney small arms belonging to a six years old skeleton kid shook the sleeping figure of a well-known scientist, who blinked his eyes in bewilderment.
"...Sans? Is that you?" Gaster asked, still half-asleep.
"Who else could it be?! C'mon, get up or we're gonna be late!" Sans replied as he now ran outside his father's bedroom, leaving the poor sleep-deprived Royal Scientist alone.
Sans was a lot anxious that night about that morning, but who wouldn't be that excited in his situation? After all, he was starting elementary school. In the end Gaster had to stay with Sans that night until he'd fell asleep, and once his son started sleeping, he was now the excited one. And it was almost like Sans had forgotten about that night's nervousness.
He rubbed his eyesockets and groggily stood up from the bed, wearing only his trousers.
He entered the living room and saw Sans sitting on the green couch, clearly over-excited as he had his legs crossed and his little fists pressed on his knees with a joyous look on his pin-pricks and an evergrowing smile on his lips.
"Heh, good morning you little pest" Gaster said, approaching the living room and quickly rubbing Sans' head before going into the kitchen and starting preparing breakfast.
Sans quickly followed him and sat down near the counter, watching as his father moved around and prepared his breakfast.
"Have you slept well dad?"
Gaster couldn't help but chuckle: had Sans asked that on purpose or was he just too innocent?
"Yeah, I have slept well..." he said completely lying as he finished putting Sans' toasts with jam on his plate, and gave it to the kid.
As Sans now ate with stars in his pin-pricks, Gaster returned back in the living room, quickly put his jacket on that was lying on the couch and turned on the tv, listening to the news.
A lot of stuff happened in those years: right when Sans was still a baby, the human that fell, whose name was Chara, died, causing the Royal Prince to fall into grief. He had absorbed the Human's soul and crossed the barrier to give Chara's body back to their own village. But in the end, he died too.
Asgore and Toriel were filled with grief and despair. The King was feeling angrier though: the Humans had once again taken everything from him, and he couldn't accept it. He declared war to the Humans, and Toriel after some months left him. Up to that day, she still couldn't be found.
The news on the tv were casually talking about that.
"...still no news about our Royal Queen ever since his Majesty Asgore declared war to the Humans. Up to this day, what could this mean? Has the Queen left because she didn't agree with her husband's rules? Only time will tell"
Gaster turned off the tv with just a gesture of the remote: he was getting sick of hearing those news about Toriel. He still had been reserved with her, but he still considered her as his friend, and he wouldn't accept people gossiping like that about her.
